Where the information comes from: what Sifter shows about a game — its store listing, its price, its review tally, its compatibility — is reported from the stores and public sources named on the page. Sifter does not rate, grade or rank games itself, and the information may be incomplete or out of date.
Acceptance
By using Sifter, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
What Sifter is
Sifter is a free tool that gathers the games you own across the stores you buy from into one library, and — on the desktop app — launches them. It is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
Reported, not judged
Sifter reports what stores and public sources say about a game and shows what you own. It does not score, grade, rank or pass judgement on games or the companies that make them. Where a figure is somebody else’s — a store’s review percentage, a community compatibility rating — it is labelled as theirs. Information can be incomplete or out of date, games change, and nothing here is professional, financial, or legal advice.
No affiliation; trademarks
Sifter is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation, Steam, or any game developer or publisher. “Steam” and all game names, logos, and cover art are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only.
Steam data & your key
Data is retrieved from Valve’s services and your use of it is subject to Valve’s applicable terms. If you supply your own Steam Web API key, you are responsible for keeping it within Steam’s terms of use.
Acceptable use
Please use Sifter for personal, lawful purposes. Don’t attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, overload or abuse our Steam proxy, scrape it at scale, or use it to harass others or violate anyone’s rights.
Intellectual property & corrections
Sifter’s own text and design are ours. Game names, artwork, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and appear here for identification only. If you represent a game and believe something shown here is inaccurate or infringes your rights, email us — we review every good-faith request and correct genuine errors promptly.
No warranty & limitation of liability
Sifter is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service or the information it reports.
Changes to the service
Sifter is offered free of charge and may be changed, paused, or discontinued at any time without notice.
Donations
Sifter is free to use. The only payment is entirely optional: a voluntary donation to support Sifter. Donations are voluntary and non-refundable, and are not tax-deductible — Sifter is not a charity. You receive no goods, services, or account benefits in exchange, and nothing is ever paywalled behind a payment.
Donations are processed by Stripe, and are also subject to Stripe’s terms. Sifter never receives or stores your card details. Making a donation never buys a place in your library, in the catalogue, or in front of anyone — that independence is the whole point.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Severability & entire agreement
If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Together with the Privacy Policy, these terms are the entire agreement between you and Sifter.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above will change when we do.
