Performance fixes and new Arrow styles and features

Small Update — New Arrows, Taming & Performance Improvements

We’ve released another update for Spirit Animal Survival, focusing on smoother gameplay, new ranged combat options, and improvements to how you manage your villagers.

Performance Improvements

We’ve improved the way players interact with world resources and pickup objects.

This includes items such as:

  • Stones
  • Berries
  • Cotton
  • Plant Fiber
  • Other harvestable and collectible resources

These changes reduce unnecessary processing during interaction and should help improve overall gameplay performance, especially in areas containing many collectible objects.

Spirit Bow & 12 New Arrow Types

A new Spirit Bow has been introduced along with 12 different Spirit Arrows.

Each arrow has its own special effect, giving archers more options depending on the situation.

Expect effects based around things such as fire, ice, electricity, explosions, elemental damage and more.

One particularly important addition is the new:

Taming Arrow

For now, the Taming Arrow can be used to tame and recruit villagers.

This system is only the beginning. We plan to expand taming so that these arrows can eventually be used with animals and other creatures as well.

Carry Your NPCs

Managing your villagers is now much easier.

You can now pick up NPCs and store them directly inside your inventory.

There is currently no practical limit to how many NPCs you can carry, allowing you to move groups of villagers between settlements or locations much more easily.

To place an NPC back into the world:

  1. Move the NPC item to your Hotbar.
  2. Select the Hotbar slot.
  3. Use Left Mouse Button to place the NPC.

This should make transporting villagers, reorganizing settlements, and recovering NPCs significantly easier.

More Coming

This is a smaller update compared to our recent major release, but it introduces several systems that we will continue expanding.

The Spirit Bow, special arrows, and especially the taming system will continue to receive additional functionality in future updates.

Spirit Animal Survival is developed by a tiny two-person team, with the majority of development handled by one developer. The game has grown into a large survival experience with many interconnected systems, creatures, building, taming, exploration, combat, professions, and more. We know there is always more to improve, and we’ll continue refining and expanding the game with every update. Thank you to everyone who supports the project and helps us keep moving forward.
