I’m so excited for you to finally play it. If you tried the demo, you’ve seen the first two acts. The full game goes a lot further than that, and there’s more on the way.

Never played a word game like this? You don’t need to be a walking dictionary. Short words win fights too, there’s a tutorial on the main menu, and every word you play shows you what it means.

About Galdr Inkblade

A galdr is an Old Norse spell that only works if you say it out loud. That’s the game: you’re dealt nine letters, you spell a word, and the word is the weapon. Longer words and rarer letters hit harder.

The catch is that the table is shared. The creature across from you spells from the same letters, and it shows you what it’s planning, so every turn is a choice between the word you want and the letters it can’t afford to lose.

  • Spell words of 3 to 12 letters from a dictionary of about 597,000 words, each with its meaning.
  • Discover galdr: real words with hidden effects. FIRE burns. The rest are yours to find.
  • Six characters, each with their own knack: the Knight, the Archer, the Mage, the Ninja, the Priest and the Viking.
  • Build your run with relics, gear, items, blessings and curses, and recover letter cards for the Tome of Lexivore to carry into later runs.
  • Daily and weekly runs, with a leaderboard for each day and for every difficulty.
  • Two players, one keyboard in local multiplayer. Online Multiplayer coming soon!
  • Keyboad, Mouse and Controller Support. You can also play optimally in Steam Deck.

About Early Access

Early Access means the game isn’t done yet. It is playable from the first fight to the end of Act 8 and beyond, but more content is coming, and I’m still fixing issues and balancing as I go.

I’d rather be honest than promise a date: the store page says six months to a year, and that’s still my best guess. I’ll keep you posted with patch notes for every update.

Your feedback matters more now than it ever will again. Tell me what’s broken, what’s unfair and what you wish was there:

And if you find a word that breaks the game, please break it in public. I’ll fix it and say so in the patch notes.

Alright, you have words to spell! Enjoy!!!
