Update | Challenge Mode, Leaderboards and Puzzle Replays
Thank you for playing Cozy Jigsaw, and for sharing your suggestions and feedback! This update brings Challenge Mode, leaderboards, and puzzle replays, along with rewritten artwork notes. Whether you want a new challenge or a quiet puzzle session, we hope you enjoy it.
Challenge Mode is now available
Challenge Mode is included in the base game, with no additional DLC purchase needed. Try the new piece shapes for a different experience from classic jigsaw cuts.
Each challenge puzzle tracks your completion time, with a top 10 leaderboard. Different cut styles have separate rankings, and your personal best is kept. Puzzle tools are available in Challenge Mode too, so you can play the way you prefer.
Watch your puzzle come together again
After finishing a puzzle, you can now replay the process or export a timelapse video, keeping a record of the scattered pieces coming together into a complete picture.
Replays need data recorded while you play. Puzzles completed before this update cannot recreate their earlier steps, and an older save starts recording from the point you resume. Start a new puzzle if you would like to capture the whole process.
Easier selection and piece finding
- Ctrl + click adds or removes individual pieces from your selection, so you can move them together.
- Shift box selection is still available and works alongside individual selection. You can also change the multi-select shortcut in Settings.
- The new shape filter uses silhouette icons to filter combinations of tabs and blanks, including rotated pieces.
- Exit Without Saving returns you to the gallery while keeping your most recent successful save, without replacing it with the state at exit.
Rewritten artwork notes
We have rewritten the artwork introductions in more approachable language. Alongside the artist, period, and art movement, the notes explain what the picture shows, how it was painted, why it is well known, and where it is held. Where relevant information is available, they also explore its background and common interpretations.
Longer introductions can be scrolled, and the artwork notes have been updated in eight languages. We hope each finished puzzle gives you a chance to discover a little more about the picture's story.
Interface improvements and fixes
- Tidied up search and filter categories, removed unhelpful options, and made the search field easier to distinguish.
- Improved selection indicators, interaction feedback, and parts of the interface layout.
- Lowered the puzzle completion sound for a gentler finish.
- Fixed loose pieces repeatedly snapping into place when a large multi-selection was dragged across the board.
- Fixed an issue that made some puzzle pieces appear incorrectly lighter or darker.
Thank you again for your support. Please keep sharing any issues you encounter or improvements you would like to see. Happy puzzling!
