Pay Your Deeds 1.1.5 - Accessibility, Controller & UI Update

Hotfix Update 1.1.5

Accessibility, Controller & UI Polish

Update 1.1.5 is now available for both the Pay Your Deeds Full Version and Demo.

This update focuses on accessibility, controller support, interface readability and another round of gameplay/UI polish based on player feedback.

NEW: BLACK & WHITE MODE

A new Black & White theme is now available in Settings.

The interface switches to a clean monochrome presentation using black, white and grayscale while keeping Symbol names, rarities and gameplay information readable.

Rarity names remain visible even when their normal colors are disabled.

IMPROVED CONTROLLER SUPPORT

Controller support received a larger update, especially for modern Xbox controllers.

  • Improved Xbox controller detection
  • Controllers connected before startup are now detected
  • Improved controller hot-plug support
  • SDL Gamepad support with Xbox/X Input-style fallback handling
  • Mouse cursor automatically hides when using a controller
  • Moving the mouse immediately restores mouse input
  • Keyboard and controller navigation now use consistent hover/focus feedback

STARTER KIT IMPROVEMENTS

The Starter Kit screen has received another usability pass.

  • Added hover feedback for individual Symbols
  • Added right-click inspection before selecting a Starter Kit
  • Long Symbol names now wrap correctly
  • Improved Symbol icon, name and rarity centering
  • Fixed incomplete hover borders on the first two rows
  • Improved spacing and separators between Symbols

You can now inspect what a Starter Kit actually contains before committing to it.

SYMBOL POOL SORTING

The Symbols window now includes new ordering options:

  • Default
  • Base Pay - High
  • Base Pay - Low
  • Lifetime - High
  • Lifetime - Low

The sorting controls have also been repositioned so they no longer interfere with the Symbol, Base and Lifetime column headers. Sorting only changes how the list is displayed — it does not modify your actual Symbol pool.

POWER STORE BALANCE

Several weaker Power Store upgrades have been buffed to make them more worthwhile purchases. We also improved deadline readability.

Instead of: DUE 5

The game now clearly displays:

  • DUE IN 5 DAYS
  • DUE IN 1 DAY
  • DUE TODAY

The same clearer wording is also used for Side Contracts.

WINDOW & UI POLISH

Several smaller interface issues have also been cleaned up:

  • Fixed minimize, maximize and close symbols not being properly centered
  • Fixed the Close button becoming difficult to see in Black & White Mode
  • Removed the unnecessary dark line behind the Main Menu buttons
  • Improved hover and focus behavior across multiple screens
  • Improved spacing and alignment throughout the interface

WINDOWS & RELEASE IMPROVEMENTS

The Windows build pipeline has also received fixes and additional validation to improve release reliability. Steam, Demo and Full Game release configurations have been checked together to keep behavior consistent between versions.

FULL GAME & DEMO

All gameplay and UI improvements listed above apply to both:

  • Pay Your Deeds - Full Version
  • Pay Your Deeds - Demo

This means Demo players can try the same accessibility, controller and interface improvements before moving to the full game.

Thank you to everyone sending feedback.

A lot of the smaller fixes in this update came directly from things players noticed while actually using the game.
