Veteran pilots, battle-worn machines and a deeper mech shop
Your pilots now grow into specialists. At skill 7 they unlock trained battle actions: sharp-reflexed pilots can go on Overwatch and fire at enemies that move into their sights, and skilled gunners can take a Called Shot at a chosen part of the target. Levelling a pilot now changes how you play them, not just their numbers.
All eight chassis have new directional art.
Hit chances are no longer a mystery. Hover a target, and you get a full breakdown of what's helping or hurting the shot (range, cover, movement, heat, arc), so you can see exactly why it's 62% and what would make it better.
The mech shop has more customization:
Per-hull armour allocation, so you choose where the plating goes. New equipment can be added such as sensor and targeting computer. Loadout presets which you can save and reuse.
A redesigned machine bay where you can give your hulls their own names. Plus clearer battle info, facing controls on the battlefield, new tactical cursors and a round of fixes.
Next up is a combat pass that makes moving and shooting without penalty during the normal turn and gives standing still a cost in terms of being easier to hit.
