The Castle Journey Update — New Areas, Weapons, Chests & Hazards

The journey to the castle just got bigger. This update adds new areas, animated hazards, weapons, and a much more rewarding chest-opening experience.

A JOURNEY THROUGH SIX AREAS Fight through the Whispering Forest, cross the Dreadstone Bridge, and push through the castle gates, grand hall, and Moonlit Garden before reaching the final throne room. Animated portals open after waves 3, 6, 9, 12, and 14, each with its own color.

WATCH YOUR STEP Skeletal chariots charge across the bridge in changing lane patterns. Gargoyles swoop from four diagonal directions. Falling branches, crumbling masonry, whipping garden thorns, and falling chandeliers bring new dangers to the other areas. Watch the warnings, keep moving, and use your dash to escape.

NEW WEAPONS AND STRONGER ATTACK EFFECTS Try the Bone Whip, Thorn Rapier, and Blood Crescent. Weapon sizes and attack animations have been refined, with fuller effects across the arsenal. The Bone Whip strikes multiple enemies in a fast, broad sweep. Frostfall Sigil covers a larger area, and maximum-rank Rootbound Fiends now slam the ground with damaging roots instead of entangling enemies.

CHESTS WORTH OPENING Find glowing dark, mimic, gold, and sapphire chests. Equipment rewards now come through chests, with up to three rewards revealed amid swirling colors, skull spirits, and showers of red XP orbs. Reward sounds accompany the XP flowing into your bar. Chests can also unlock pets!

PETS AND PROGRESSION Pets are cosmetic companions that collect pickups, with different appearances and rarities. Pet stat bonuses have been removed. Early levels still come quickly, but XP requirements increase more sharply from level 6 onward. Monster XP rewards remain unchanged by this curve adjustment.

FIXES AND BALANCE • Disabled the extra scripted zombie hordes while keeping normal enemy spawning. • Limited wave three to three active bombs at a time. • Reduced equipment reward frequency. • Fixed floating mage animation bleed and crashes caused by removed enemies. • Fixed the chest screen hiding the mouse.
