Hey everyone,
At this point it I think many people are aware that there have been a flood of Needle In A Haystack games on Steam. Some even joke about it saying that the game has become finding the original game.
I wanted to talk about this, because many people are not aware and go out calling us another clone or copycat game.
We were actually the first to work on this game and were on steam since August 9th and any website history tracker or steamdb can confirm this.
I actually talked to the developer of the Needle In A Haystack Simulator game, Nas, at first asking why he posted on twitter calling us a clone, and he then apologized since he did not realize that we had already been working on the game idea. I asked him to also remove the big red original sticker on his game which is not only making us seem like a clone game, but is also against steam rules, which he then refused, stating that "we need it to make our game distinct from the other clones".
Even though many of the other copycat games are straight up copying our ideas constantly and even posting the same videos, I am not here to attack anyone, in fact I think we both agree on the point that it is better to focus on improving the game and making it fun. Instead of debating about this over twitter. Because at the end of the day that is what matters.
I also understand that in this era it will only become more and more prevalent to see games get copied, and all you can do is to actually focus on your game and make it better.
Away from the drama, we are releasing tomorrow, and I will be making myself available in the Discord to fix any issues and ensure the launch goes smoothly.
Have fun hay picking.
