Hotfix: Soundboard audio and response times

I fixed an issue where soundboard clips could stop playing through the selected output, even though VoIPVault still showed the correct device in Settings.

Windows sometimes changes a device’s internal number after restarting Wave Link, reconnecting audio hardware, adding another audio device or even connecting a controller. VoIPVault could keep using the old number. Opening Settings and clicking Save forced it to find the device again, which is a temporary fix.

VoIPVault now checks that the saved number still belongs to the correct device. If it changed, the app finds the output again by its name.

I also made two response improvements:

  • Soundboard pages preload their clips and prepare the selected output. Buttons should play sooner, including the first time you press one after opening a page.
  • Save Last now shows “Saving...” as soon as you press it, then confirms when the file finishes saving. Longer clips can still take longer to write, especially with editable tracks enabled, but the button should no longer look like it ignored you.

You shouldn’t need to resave your audio settings after installing the update.
