CRETA Major Update — Cubes, Labyrinths, Racing and the Giants of the Mediterrane

Hello, anglers!

In this major update for CRETA: Taskbar Fishing, we’re expanding our workshops, opening the door to new stories, and preparing for the toughest catches the Mediterranean has to offer.

The journey begins with the Creta Cubes, Labyrinth, and Creta Racing systems, then continues into special bait production, new collection cards, and the offshore challenges of Impossible Takes Time.

Here’s what’s waiting for you!

🧩 Creta Cubes: Your New Production Journey

Watch cubes perform real movements and solve themselves inside the Mirabello Workshop as you produce solved CRETA Cubes.

  • Expand your workshop up to 30 cubes.
  • Unlock permanent 2×, 4×, and 10× speed upgrades.
  • Automate fuel management.
  • Track your total cubes produced and your currently available stored cubes separately.

The cubes you produce are also used as fuel for the Labyrinth and Creta Racing workshops. This means progress in one workshop helps you advance through the others.

🌀 Ierapetra Labyrinth Workshop

Meet automated explorers searching for the exit through trap-filled labyrinths!

Track labyrinth progress, your best results, and exit probabilities while expanding your workshop up to 30 labyrinths and increasing its operating speed all the way to 100×.

This system runs on Creta Cubes and also includes automatic fuel management. Speed upgrades make attempts faster while preserving the rules of each run.

🏁 Creta Racing: This Time, Pick the Fish That Won’t Win!

Six fish enter the race. Your goal is to choose one fish and have it not win for 101 consecutive races!

If your selected fish wins, the streak ends and a new one begins. You can track the progress of every racing station separately and upgrade up to 30 stations with 100× speed.

Every new race brings another chance to extend your streak.

🎣 Tiered Rewards and Special Bait Production

The Labyrinth and Creta Racing systems now feature a three-tier reward structure.

At the end of a run or streak, you receive a reward based on the highest tier you reached. Lower-tier rewards can be converted into higher tiers, then into points, and eventually into special bait:

  • Lab Fishing Bait
  • Racing Fishing Bait

Spendable balances, conversion rates, and probabilities are displayed directly on the relevant screens. These baits are an important part of preparing for the great hunts in the Mediterranean Offshore.

🌊 Impossible Takes Time: The Giants of the Mediterranean Await

Challenge three creatures of IMPOSSIBLE rarity in the new offshore section:

  • Maw of Terror
  • Storm Executioner
  • Mediterranean Titan

Each encounter is a 5-minute full-screen battle consisting of Tracking, Resistance, and Final Move phases. Capture and escape outcomes are presented with creature-specific scenes and new visual effects.

Each attempt has a total 25% capture chance. Depending on the creature you choose, you will need Lab Bait, Racing Bait, or both. CRETA Cubes, Gold, Pearls, and fish stocks are also consumed as resources.

The full attempt cost is paid at the beginning and is not refunded if the creature escapes.

Prepare your resources, choose your target, and head into the depths!

🏦 Special Shop Added to the Bank

A new Special Shop can now be found directly above the Collection Vault entrance inside the Bank.

The shop offers:

  • Lab Fishing Bait: 1 trillion Gold + 1 trillion Pearls
  • Racing Fishing Bait: 1 trillion Gold + 1 trillion Pearls
  • Produced CRETA Cube: 500 million Gold + 500 million Pearls

Both currencies listed in the price must be paid together, and each purchase gives 1 item.

CRETA Cubes purchased from the Bank also count toward your total produced cubes and are included in cube return requirements at the Church.

Deposit mechanics have also been updated: when you collect your interest, your principal remains in the Bank and a new term begins automatically.

🎲 Resmo’s New Table: Bait Gambling

You can now take your chances with Lab and Racing Baits in Resmo!

The rules are simple:

  • Place 1 bait of your chosen type on the table.
  • Each attempt consumes 5 produced CRETA Cubes.
  • You receive 0, 1, or 2 bait in return.
  • Your maximum net profit is +1 bait.

The base probabilities are:

20% loss, 45% return of the same bait, and 35% win.

The Resmo’s Twins Dolphins effect from the Collection Vault also works at this table and increases your chance of winning. The maximum amount of bait that can be won does not change.

📜 New Stories, Cards, and Mysteries

New research and story quests have been added to Mirabello, Ierapetra, and South Crete.

Along the way, you’ll encounter region-specific characters, scenes, and rewards while unlocking new collection cards:

  • Mirabello’s Μικροπράγματα
  • Ierapetra’s Infinity at a Glance
  • South Crete’s Golden Age

A new encounter is also waiting to be discovered at the Misty Church.

Some stories may only reach their conclusion when you return to the same place later...

New in-game achievements and trophy objectives have also been added for card collection and for capturing different creatures in the Mediterranean Offshore.

☄️ New Meteor Effect

The Meteor Effect has been added to the Card Forge system!

Meteor can reward you with solved CRETA Cubes while fishing. If Lightning, Earthquake, and Tornado effects trigger during the same catch, even larger cube rewards can appear.

A dedicated sea scene and screen-border visual effects have also been added for Meteor.

✨ UI, Progression, and Quality-of-Life Improvements

  • Access to the Production Center and new workshops has been moved earlier in the full game.
  • All seven region screens in the Selection Center are now accessible from the beginning, while normal fishing region unlock requirements remain unchanged.
  • Aşk Baba support has been improved to help prevent progression blocks in the forging path caused by card selections.
  • Selection, Card Forge, Resmo, Labyrinth, and Racing screens have been redesigned.
  • Effect notifications are now smaller, clearer, and more visually consistent with one another.
  • Workshop scroll positions, input focus, and cube animations have been improved.
  • A new visual CRETA logo has been added to the top panel.
  • Save comparison and transfer screens for moving Demo progress into the full game have been improved.
  • Region names, new system descriptions, and interface text have been updated across all eight supported languages.

Build your new workshops, prepare your bait, and discover the catches waiting for you in the depths of the Mediterranean.
