NEW GAME MODE: Lava Tower!

TOWER MODE IS HERE!

I had alot of fun making this new game mode.

The sea is lava. It's rising. It never stops. Build UP. Tower Mode is a brand-new way to play Flood With Friends. No islands, no quota, no pilot to catch, just you, your crew, a pile of planks and a nail gun. Nail your tower together, climb it, and see how high you can get before the last of you is in the lava.

How a round goes

• Three minutes of calm. You start on a gold foundation with a big pile of planks, logs and crates. Get building before the lava wakes up.
• The lava rises, and it speeds up. Night falls, the sea glows, and it climbs faster every minute. One touch and you're a ghost.
• Build out, not just up. Supplies hang from balloons out past the edge of your tower. Build a bridge toward one, then shoot it with your harpoon and the piece flies straight into your hands.
• Last one standing sets the score. The round ends when the whole crew has burned. Your score is the tallest your tower ever got.

What's out to get you

Everything here goes for you, never your tower, and everything has an answer:

• Seagulls: bat them away with your oar.
• Wind: crouch to brace or get blown off.
• Lightning: hits whoever is highest. When you hear the crackle, climb down.
• Lava spit: watch for the warning ring and move.

Lava fishing

• When a crewmate is down, an Angel Fish leaps out of the lava. Harpoon it and use it to bring them back. It's the only revive in Tower Mode.
• A Flying Fish circles above the tower. Catch it for a lift up to the next level.

Beat the line

• A gold ring hangs at your best height. Climb past it for NEW BEST.
• Height milestones
• Watch out for JACKPOT balloons. Sometimes there's a piano hanging from one. Or a car. Nail it on.
• When it's over, you get a polaroid of your tower at its peak, and the round goes on your Tower leaderboard: one board for every crew size, each row showing who built it.

How to play

Title screen → HOST → TOWER. Play solo, or invite your friends through Steam.

Also in this update

• The harpoon now reloads in a second (watch the bar under your crosshair), and anything you hook flies straight into your empty hands, in every mode.
• For some reason you could eat your harpoon gun, no longer
• Added some QOL I saw on some stream! (Thank you for streaming!)
• Sunken treasures are removed due to the amount of retainment bugs happening
• Rejoin features without desyncs online
