0.1.12 - Trees, wood and a more personal factory

The world feels more alive in this update. You can now discover trees, cut them down, put their wood to work, and plant new saplings. We also added more freedom to style your factory and choose how money works in your game.

Trees start a whole new production cycle

  • New worlds and newly explored areas now grow trees in a variety of shapes.
  • Equip the new Axe and strike four times to fell an entire tree. It falls away from your character, with dedicated sounds for each hit and the final ground impact.
  • The trunk becomes Wood and the leaves drop at least one Sapling. Plant it on Dirt or Grass and, if there is enough room, a new tree will grow in five to seven minutes.
  • Wood can travel through your production lines, pass through Filters, fuel your machines, or be sold for $0.07.
  • The tutorial, Manual, and Wiki now teach the complete cycle, and trees, saplings, and wood remain exactly where you left them when loading a save.

Make the factory your own

  • Machine Walls now have four looks: Brick, Wood, Concrete, and Steel. Choose one while building or change it later from the wall menu. Copied and pasted structures keep their selected texture too.
  • Choose between the classic numeric balance and Physical Money delivered through the Payment Signal. You can switch between them in Settings without losing money, and the interface adapts to your choice.
  • The continuous sounds from Conveyors and Filters are now smoother, without the noticeable cut when a loop starts over.

Fixes that stay out of your way

  • Moving the camera while dragging Vertical Conveyors, Filters, Walls, or other machines no longer creates extra pieces by mistake.
  • Horizontal Conveyors now spend less work detecting jams, helping factories with longer transport lines run more efficiently.
  • On desktop, Ctrl+W and Cmd+W no longer close the game accidentally.
