Update 0.1.6 — Logic automation and new production chains

Automation has gained new possibilities, and the fluid, production, and movement systems have received major improvements.

Logic automation

  • A new family of automation blocks has arrived: logic sensors, timers, hoppers, and cables. They let you connect sensors and timers to new and existing blocks — such as logic hoppers, liquid pumps, filters, and manufacturing machines — to control how they operate.
  • Sensors can detect any material, only a selected material, or everything except the selected material. Timers support configurable wait and signal cycles from 1 to 30 seconds.
  • Signals sent by sensors and timers can start, stop, or invert the behavior of connected equipment.
  • To use the new blocks, unlock the Logic Automation research. The Manual also includes a dedicated section for the system, together with a new tutorial step.

Water, steam, and production

  • The new Water Heater turns water touching any of its sides into steam while switched on.
  • Water and steam spreading has been improved. Steam can now also pass through machines, allowing more compact setups.
  • The Rock Crusher now turns Basalt into Basalt Powder. The Extruder combines Dirt and Basalt Powder to produce Fertilizer.
  • Basalt Powder and Fertilizer can be filtered, sold, and viewed in the Manual.

World and movement

  • The maximum width of new worlds has increased from 11 to 20 chunks.
  • Character movement through water, ore, and other loose materials has been reworked. Holding S now provides more consistent downward movement through materials and machine platforms.
  • Natural water sources are now protected against accidental removal.

Interface and visuals

  • Filter configuration now includes material search by name.
  • The Rock Crusher, Forge, and Seed Processor have received updated art, animations, or collision. Isolated conveyor ends are now rounded.
  • A progressive vignette strengthens the sense of depth.

Balance

  • Conveyor speed has been reduced by half to make production lines easier to control.
