1.6.2 – Fine-tuning

Update 1.6.2 is live. The biggest follow-up to the Relic Hall so far, and almost everything in it comes from you. On top of that we checked the whole game and set straight everything where display and effect disagreed.

From your reports

  • The hero stands at full size by default, and the box next to it can be moved below the hero (Madazenus).
  • The forge names missing materials, “home call ready” only shows when everything is enough, and the number at the relic menu counts more (Madazenus).
  • The Floating Pebble drops at 12.5 instead of 7.5% and is guaranteed after 20 tries (Madazenus).
  • An unbroken Seal of the Last Voice survives the Ashfall (Madazenus).
  • Very small chances show their real number instead of “0.00%” (Madazenus).
  • The relic source texts are consistent, the tower's bad-luck protection is visible from the start, and tower practice can go “10 floors down” (Rody, Madazenus).
  • Hero and foe stand on one line in combat, and the supplies bar stays in place in small windows (Rockkange).
  • Weapon levels are explained, the Gem Cutting help is correct, the potion list is always reachable, the Mirror Lake reminds you of the set line, and the Silent Chamber sits under the Homestead (Holyjester).
  • Hardening from +11 asks first, with chance and cost (countzero666).
  • The Daily Spark shows for sleeping relics too, and search finds six new terms such as Ember Sparks and Potion Warden.

Faster to the goal

  • Awakening II to V is faster: Awakening IV takes about 25 days on average instead of 44, Awakening V about 36 instead of 64.
  • Titan gear is guaranteed after four weekly wins at the latest.

Gold in the late game

  • From your 3rd Ashfall on, upgrades cost 20% more with every Ashfall; what you bought stays.
  • From your 3rd Ashfall on, the Traveller reckons with your real hunting and names prices in gold and hours.
  • Death and pickpockets grow with your income, and the market weapon surcharge counts sold copies too.

The Ashfall forgets less

  • Daily limits and daily counters carry on through the Ashfall.
  • Your trail, win counters, the whole world map, your Ember Compass choice and a switched-off Auto-Hunt are kept.
  • The Ashfall window and the trade rank messages say exactly what stays.

Offline like live

  • The forge now works offline like gathering: after 8 hours you get about 69% instead of 19% of the live amount (Holyjester).
  • Offline now also brings market gold, Ember Marks while gathering, more finds in the night watch and the Brandseal; the return window says what counts.

Crafting and workshop

  • Newly crafted workshop pieces roll crafting speed and Double Craft by your trade level; Material Saving and pieces you own stay as they are (Holyjester).
  • “Bonuses & Effects” handles multipliers correctly, and workshop pieces say that you refine them instead of hardening them (Holyjester).
  • Favourites stay put: feeding takes the cheapest food first, and delivering in the Silent Chamber leaves favourites and the last museum piece alone.

Interface and controls

  • New players no longer end up on pages that are not in the menu yet, and no longer get four new things at once.
  • Night foes are bluish everywhere, and the menu and important buttons work with the keyboard.
  • Plus many small display and text fixes, from root venom to the material study to the Ember Crate.

Nine languages

  • About 370 texts that were still English in seven languages are translated, and many names are made consistent.

Honestly

  • Gem Cutting gives 25% less experience because it levelled much faster than intended; levels you reached stay (Holyjester).
  • The Ember Crucible catches up at most 60 instead of 120 runs after a break, so that millions of gold do not vanish at once when you return (johnhawk, eric-belair, Holyjester).
  • In offline crafting a hidden lower limit slowed fast crafters down; that was our mistake and it is fixed.

What comes next

The Ember Grades are in the works. Thank you for every report and every screenshot!
