VR Mode + New Boss: The Hypercube
VR Mode + New Boss: The Hypercube
Play Orbital Hell in VR
Orbital Hell can now be played in virtual reality. When you press Play, Steam will let you choose between the regular desktop mode and the new VR mode. Same game, same install.
- A weapon in each hand. You dual-wield two gatlings, one per controller, and aim each of them independently. Cover two directions at once.
- Full motion controls. Left stick to move around the sphere, right stick for smooth turning, A/X to jump, grip to dash, left trigger for the orbital shield and right trigger for extra fire.
- Built for the headset. A radial HUD sits next to your weapons, and menus are navigated in 3D with a pointer from your right hand.
- VR tutorial. A dedicated tutorial teaches you the VR controls before you jump in.
- Separate VR leaderboards. VR runs have their own rankings for both Normal and Boss Rush, so you compete against other VR players.
VR is completely optional. The desktop mode works exactly as before. VR mode requires an OpenXR-compatible headset.

New Boss: The Hypercube
A four-dimensional threat joins the boss roster. The Hypercube is a tesseract that folds through itself while the swarm crawls along its edges.
- Destroy its four exposed red anchors to bring it down.
- Its lasers lock on before they fire. Watch for the warning and get out of the way.
- Taking out an anchor also cancels the next laser it would have fired, so picking your targets matters.
- It appears after the Butterfly in the normal progression and is part of Boss Rush.
Thanks for playing, and good luck out there!
