A Small Note From the Developer

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a little bit about the person behind Château Pluie, and about why this game exists in the first place.

My name is Bryan, I’m an independent developer from Ecuador, and Château Pluie is the first game I’ve released on Steam.

The idea for the game came from something very personal. My fiancée loves calm games about organizing, sorting, collecting things and completing small tasks, so I wanted to create something inspired by the kind of experience she enjoys.

What started as a relatively small idea eventually became Château Pluie: a cellar filled with hundreds of bottles, different collections, secrets, collectibles and little details that I spent a lot of time putting together.

I developed the game mostly on my own, learning, experimenting and solving problems as I went. My sister Julieth also helped me with social media and promotion, and my fiancée has been a huge part of the reason I wanted to finish this project in the first place.

That’s also why I wanted the credits inside the game to be a little more personal than just a list of names.

And for those of you who were curious enough to open the Credits, you may have already discovered a little more about who Château Pluie was made for, and why this project became so personal to me.

I liked the idea of leaving that part there quietly, almost like another small secret in the cellar, for the people who took the time to look a little deeper.

If you've played Château Pluie, left a review, reported a bug, shared the game, posted about it, or simply spent some time organizing bottles in the cellar, thank you.

Seeing real people playing something I created has been a strange and genuinely special experience. Every comment, report and little story from someone playing the game reminds me that Château Pluie is no longer just a project sitting on my computer.

It’s something other people can now experience too.

There are still things I want to improve, and I’m continuing to listen to feedback and make the experience better where I can. But regardless of where Château Pluie goes from here, finishing and releasing it has already taught me an enormous amount.

And I hope this is only the beginning.

I hope Château Pluie can be the first of many games I get to make.

Thank you for being here, and thank you for giving this little cellar a chance.
