The Singing Forest Update — Befriend Dulcimals Through Song

The Singing Forest update is here! Stop on the trail, listen to a Dulcimal's song and make room for a new friend.

A new way to make friends

• Wild Dulcimals now appear in the world. Walk up to a creature and choose to listen or battle.
• Earn its trust by echoing three short song verses. There is no time limit, and mistakes cost nothing. Follow the lights and shapes to play without needing to hear the notes.
• Traveling together costs 1 Vital Candy and 1 Cloud Capsule. Your new friend joins your team or goes to the Box, and is recorded in the Dulcidex.
• Discovering the first song in a zone rewards 180 Azuquitos and a memory in your journal.

Smoother exploration

• Your first healthy team member follows your footsteps as you explore.
• Click the ground to walk around obstacles. Keyboard or controller movement takes over immediately.
• Updated walking and sprinting, faster stamina recovery and a wider starting camera with adjustable zoom.
• A clearer starting position in Marshmallow Town keeps your character visible when the adventure begins.

A fresh look for your adventure

• Redesigned title screen and starter selection, a new four-scene introduction, and a field-notebook style for the HUD, journal and dialogue.
• New creature friendship and encounter text translated into all 31 supported languages.

Fixes and save compatibility

• Time and weather pause while listening, reading and battling, including the first rival duel.
• Click-to-walk routes stop when you pause or enter a battle.
• Existing saves remain compatible, so you can continue your adventure with the new features.

To try the new friendship system, head north from Marshmallow Town to Cotton Path. Look for a Dulcimal in the grass, walk up and choose Listen.
