Caramellia Update — Steam Deck Controls & Language Fix

This update addresses issues reported by Steam Deck players.

Changes

  • The game now uses the language selected in Steam on first launch.
  • If no Steam language is available, the system language is used.
  • English is now the fallback language instead of Spanish.
  • The language selector now appears at the top of the Options menu.
  • Improved controller detection under Steam Deck and Proton.
  • Added native Steam Input support as a fallback when the controller is not exposed through the standard Gamepad API.
  • Fixed cases where an inactive or “ghost” controller slot could prevent the active controller from working.
  • Resetting settings now restores the detected Steam/system language instead of Spanish.

Quality Assurance

  • Passed 1,241 automated tests.
  • Production build and Steam release audits completed successfully.
  • A new Windows/Steam release candidate has been generated.

We sincerely apologize to players who were unable to play because of these issues. Thank you for reporting them.
