Grim Reach - 1.1.2

Hey everyone,

Update 1.1.2 is out. It started as a hotfix and grew into a proper update, largely thanks to your reports and questions over the last two days. Thank you for sending them in.

The short version: three new playable peoples in character creation, plenty of quality-of-life improvements for the Action Queue, and the fixes you asked for.

New

  • Three new playable races — Character creation now offers Humans, Elves, Orcs, and Goblins. Each has 30 archetypes—15 combat classes and 15 professions—with male and female variants. That makes 240 portraits in total, all in the same style. Choose the face that best fits how you want to play; archetypes are purely cosmetic and never restrict your character.
  • Custom amounts for the Action Queue — The buttons on every action, monster, and dungeon card are now 1 / 25 / X / ∞. Selecting X opens a small window where you can enter any amount, see how long it will take and which level you are expected to reach, and then either add it to the queue or start it immediately. No more stacking actions in steps of 50.
  • Tonics can now be charged up — Drinking the same tonic again adds to its remaining duration instead of resetting it. You can also drink several at once using ×5, ×10, or Charge Up, with a maximum duration of three hours. Ten Forager’s Tonics now last 50 minutes—not just five.
  • The Item Wiki now introduces itself — The first time you open an item card, a short guided tour explains its contents and points out the ? button in the upper-right corner. This opens the Item Wiki, where you can find every source, recipe, and drop rate associated with that item. Several of you never discovered this button, so it will now pulse gently until you have completed the tour.
  • Bank: Stack All — A new button beside Deposit All moves every inventory item that already has a stack in your bank onto that stack, while leaving everything else in your inventory.
  • Rare finds now display their drop rate — The Rare Find popup shows the exact drop chance of the item you just received.
  • The queue now understands production chains — If you queue 650 Copper Vein actions followed by Smelt Copper, the smelting card will show in yellow that the required materials will be available by the time it begins, instead of incorrectly claiming that you have none.
  • Achievements have been reworked — There are now 311 achievements instead of 537. The lengthy kill chains and repetitive tier ladders are gone, leaving meaningful milestones behind. Nothing you have already earned will be lost.
  • Warding now levels faster — Absorbed Ward now grants four times as much XP as before.
  • Runecrafting foci now follow a consistent crafting path — First forge a Focus Blank, then enchant it into the finished Focus. The five special foci—Dim Crystal, Frost, Aether Orb, Void, and Godspark—now follow the same process and appear in the same category.

Fixes

  • Endless actions can now be stopped correctly — Clicking ∞ again while the same action was already running endlessly silently added a second endless entry to the queue, making the Stop button appear broken. Duplicate endless entries are now ignored, and Stop clears any existing duplicates.
  • New Haven building costs now show the proper item card — Hovering over a required material displays its regular item card, including the Item Wiki button. Clicking the material opens its Wiki entry directly, so you can find out where items such as Grave Essence come from without having to ask on the forum.
  • New Haven interactions have been improved — Material chips in the list view now open the corresponding item source, while clicking the construction bar opens the building’s information card first.

Save games from every previous version remain fully compatible, as always.

The forum and the in-game bug report remain the fastest ways to reach me.

The next update will be 1.2.0, and it is a bigger one: New Haven is getting a tavern.
