Hotfixes — 1.0.2

The first round of polish has arrived since the 1.0 release, and almost all of the changes came directly from your reports. Thank you for sending them and for being so precise. A few of these issues had been debated internally for weeks, only for a player to settle the question in a single sentence.

New

  • Report a Bug from inside the game — The report entry now looks like the button it was always meant to be, alot of you missed this feature entirely. You now can also leave your Discord name if you would like a reply from me. This is entirely optional, and the field remains empty if you prefer not to provide it.
  • The guided tour now covers the Action Queue — New players were never introduced to the Action Queue or New Haven because both were only explained in update tours shown to existing saves. The tour now guides you through both features and opens the queue panel for you instead of leaving it as a thin strip at the edge of the screen.
  • A short notice after an update — When a patch changes something that affects your save, the game will now tell you at startup, once per version. No more wondering why something moved.
  • The queue tells you how long it will take — The total duration and expected completion time are displayed above the list, while every individual entry shows its remaining time. Combat durations are clearly marked as estimates. If your materials will run out before reaching the selected target, the queue now tells you instead of inventing a number.
  • Mass selling in a single click — The Sell tab now has a Select All control, and holding Shift allows you to select an entire range. Clearing 30 enchanted finds used to take thirteen clicks.

Changes

  • Bows now require both hands — A player asked whether using a bow and a kite shield at the same time was intentional. It was not. Of the 47 ranged weapons, 12 followed the two-handed rule while 35 did not, depending on whether they had been found or crafted. The same rule now applies to all of them. If you were carrying a bow and shield together, the shield will be returned to your inventory the next time you load your save. Nothing will be lost, and a letter in your mailbox will explain what happened.
  • Food and potions now respect their cooldowns everywhere — When using the character sheet, it was possible to consume any number of potions back-to-back during combat because their cooldowns were not applied there. Cooldowns are now enforced consistently throughout the game.
  • New Haven moved; it did not disappear — Since version 1.0, New Haven has been located third in the sidebar, directly beneath Combat. It was previously found at the very bottom, behind all 14 skills and below the visible edge on most resolutions unless you scrolled. This change should have been included in the 1.0 patch notes, so here it is.

Fixes

  • Three controls that appeared to be broken now work correctly: Quit Game did not respond to clicks, overwriting a save appeared to do nothing, and the variant pop-up could disappear behind the bank window.
  • The Leather Helm, Leather Body, Rusty Sword, Wooden Shield, Gnarled Staff, and Hunting Bow had no recorded sell values and could therefore be sold for only 1 gold. They are now worth their intended amounts again.
  • Cut-off text has been fixed across all seven languages. Buff names, rune descriptions, quest text, the main-menu timestamp, the hero name during character creation, and the numbers on combat bars could all be truncated, sometimes by as much as half.
  • Sidebar entries now hyphenate at syllable boundaries instead of breaking in the middle of a word.
  • Building descriptions in New Haven and skill descriptions in the overview are displayed in full again instead of being cut off mid-sentence.
  • Attribute names and values on the character sheet remain readable at resolutions of 1600×900 and 1366×768.
  • Tutorial bubbles no longer cover the buttons they are pointing towards.
  • Item tooltips no longer appear directly underneath the mouse cursor.
  • Champions are no longer announced as appearing in the Idol Hall, which cannot be entered through regular combat in the first place.
  • The locked-zone badge is visible again, and the bank counter now displays the complete total.
  • Several companion descriptions promised effects that the companions did not actually possess. These descriptions now accurately explain what each companion does. What’s Next? Right now, I’m focusing on polishing the UI, correcting past mistakes, and acting on your feedback—whether that means implementing your suggestions or fixing things you have found that are not working as intended. Please keep reporting anything you encounter. If you would like to discuss your feedback or feature suggestion with me directly, you can now include your Discord name with your report.
