v1.2.0 — THE CIRCUIT

Patch 1.2.0 — THE CIRCUIT

Your run draft just got a brain transplant.

Until now, most of what you picked mid-run was a number going up. 1.2.0 flips that: power between runs is numbers (Arsenal, gear, Ascendancy). Power inside a run is rules. The draft now hands you abilities that change what your shield, dash and Burst actually DO.

Prefer the old way? Options > Draft Style > Classic brings back the stat-card draft. Nothing is taken away.

RETURN FORMS

At wave 1, choose what your caught shots become:

  • RAIL — only PERFECTs fire, as a piercing rail. Sloppy catches just charge.
  • PRISM — every catch fans into shards.
  • SATELLITE — caught shots orbit and fire on their own.
  • RICOCHET — returns bounce off the walls, hitting harder each time.
  • BLOOM — slow shells that detonate and chain.

Each Form has its own engines, colours and boss interplay. Forms unlock as you play, and the Daily now forces a Form, so every day is a different puzzle.

THE CIRCUIT & 43 NEW ENGINES

Engines slot into your Circuit: 10 sockets, +1 per major boss. Take a new Engine into a full Circuit and you choose which one to overwrite. Take one you already own to EMPOWER it. Picks now cost something, so builds are decisions instead of accumulation. The pause screen shows your Circuit, your build name, and how close each Fusion is.

FUSIONS WITH VISIBLE RECIPES

Two named Engines (plus your Form) merge into one ability and free a socket. Recipes are printed right on the cards ("Pairs with Riptide → TIDAL LANCE") and listed in the new Codex tabs. Five new Form Fusions: Storm Rail, Spectrum, Hive Mind, Carom Prime, Afterbloom.

DRAFTS WITH A JOB

  • Every offer is a DEEPEN, BRANCH or WILD card, and tells you why it's there.
  • A ready Fusion is always on the table, and a half-built one is guaranteed its missing piece within three drafts.
  • BANISH (key B) removes a card from your run. SKIP (key X) declines a draft for Essence.

MORE NEW STUFF

  • Boss Preview — see the next boss, its rule, and the next sector's tags when you draft and at Crossroads.
  • New routes — Forge, Armory, Gambit Shrine, Elite Hunt, Black Market, Relic Vault and Respite.
  • Gambits — dark-framed cards with real power and a real run-long cost.
  • Signal Mods — at waves 10, 25 and 40 your Signature ability learns a new rule (four per Reaper).
  • Resonance — relic sets now resonate at tier 1: Overkill, Rebound Pulse and Interest.
  • Ascended Forms — at wave 50 your Form mutates. Choose one of two rules it keeps for the rest of the run (Twin Rail, Kaleidoscope, Constellation Core, Infinite Angle, Supernova and more, twelve in all).
  • Your build, named — every run gets a build name (e.g. RAIL · STORM), and the run-end screen credits where your damage came from ("MVP: Thunderhead — 34%").
  • Each Reaper gets a second signature Engine, and Form Mastery unlocks each Form's 3rd and 4th Engines.

INVENTORY: RECOVERY IS NOW A RESOURCE

  • Recovery starts with one slot and can be expanded without limit through the new Recovery Bay upgrade in the Arsenal.
  • Recovery is closed during a run (the tab is locked, with a tooltip explaining why).
  • When both stash and Recovery are full, new loot auto-salvages your least valuable unlocked piece for Essence and Flux. Lock anything you want to keep.
  • Already overstocked? You keep everything you have. Recovery just stops accepting new items.
  • SALVAGE ALL — a new ALL GEAR option reviews every unlocked piece of every rarity (Rig sets included) in one confirmation. Locked gear always stays safe.

BALANCE

  • Homing rounds dialed back — homing is now a nudge, not a lock-on. It only sees foes in a forward cone at short range, turns more slowly, and bends a shot by about 50° total. No more looping back for enemies behind you. Aim matters again.
  • Return Forms were tuned against a bot-driven simulator so each is viable and none dominates. Rail hits harder on PERFECTs, Prism shards and Bloom shells were strengthened, the Ricochet bounce bonus was reined in, and Prism caps its fan-out when the screen is already full.
  • Draft offers no longer over-favour numbers. Reaper favor lists lean on rule cards, and rarity now means effect size rather than how rarely you see a card.
  • Circuit runs no longer carry a random opening Hull, so the health forecast is exact.

FIXES

  • Evolutions that actually evolve — Prism Rail and Redline Reactor did nothing when chosen. Final Cut now truly carves a boss GUARD, Thunderhead works with Aftershock alone, and later Evolutions no longer starve behind the first three. The Classic draft now shows "CHAIN 2/3" progress and an "UNLOCKS EVOLUTION" call-out.

LANGUAGES

Every new Circuit card, Form, Fusion, Gambit, mod, Ascension and menu label ships translated in all 33 non-English languages. If a translation reads oddly, tell us in the discussions and we'll fix it.

Existing saves carry over, and Save & Quit slots and old replays keep working (they use the draft style they were recorded with).

The Circuit is a big change to how a run feels, so we want your feedback: which Forms and Fusions feel amazing, which feel weak, and which builds break the game. Post in the discussions or come find us on Discord.

Now go build something worth returning.
