Thank you for all the support and the huge amount of feedback since the announcement. I really appreciate the enthusiasm around OMEGA, and I’d like to start sharing smaller development updates from time to time, each focusing on a specific part of the game.
The Arctic biome will be the first large open area available in OMEGA: The Dead Planet.
It is currently planned at roughly 4 km², but the goal is not to create a huge empty open world.
OMEGA uses a semi-open structure, with the focus on exploration, environmental storytelling, combat encounters and meaningful locations rather than simply covering distance.

A World Built for Exploration
The Arctic will contain a variety of locations to discover, including:
• Outposts • Mining sites • Smaller research stations • Abandoned industrial areas • Natural landmarks • Other hidden points of interest
Some of these locations will also lead underground.
You will be able to enter mines, underground laboratories and larger research facilities, which will function as separate interior areas with their own atmosphere, encounters and exploration.

Different Times of Day and Weather
The Arctic will feature different time-of-day and weather conditions.
Clear daylight, colder blue nights, snowfall, fog and heavier snowstorms can dramatically change the atmosphere and visibility of the same locations.

Large, but Not Empty
The goal is to make the Arctic feel large enough to explore freely while still keeping the world dense, readable and intentionally designed.
You will find landmarks, routes, optional areas and locations that reward exploration rather than simply filling the map with empty space.

Jessica in the Arctic
Jessica remains the focus of the experience, and the biome is designed around travelling through it, exploring its locations and discovering what happened there.
On foot, the environment is meant to feel hostile, isolated and large, especially during harsher weather and darker sections of the game.

Exploration by Hover Bike
Traversal will also play an important role.
The hover bike will allow you to move more efficiently across the larger sections of the biome and reach distant locations without turning exploration into simple fast travel.

More development updates are coming soon, each focusing on a specific part of OMEGA: The Dead Planet.
