Update v1.0.17 Now Live — Save Data Protection & Cloud Saves

Update v1.0.17 Now Live — Save Data Protection & Cloud Saves

Thank you for playing S.O.L School Of Labyrinth. Update v1.0.17 is now live. This update is all about keeping your save data safe.

Steam Cloud Save is now supported

  • Continue your adventure even when you switch PCs
  • When you play on multiple PCs, the newer save is selected automatically
  • The first time you launch the game after this update, your current saves will be uploaded to the cloud
  • If cloud sync does not appear, try restarting the Steam client
  • If you prefer not to use cloud saves, you can turn them off in the game's Properties → General

Stronger save data protection

After investigating reports of the "corrupted or unsupported save data" message, we found that in some cases the save data itself was not damaged at all. We have fundamentally strengthened how your data is protected.

  • If a save fails, the game now tells you why on screen (it will never fail silently)
  • A backup copy is kept at all times, starting right after your very first save
  • If a backup is intact, the game now recovers from it automatically
  • When a future update changes the save format, the previous version of your data will be archived automatically
  • "Damaged data" and "data created by a newer version" are now shown as separate messages, and the game asks for confirmation before overwriting. We will never discard your progress on our own judgment

Other fixes

  • Fixed an issue where upgrading the Infirmary applied its maximum SAN bonus twice

Your existing save data works as-is. No action is needed on your part.

Upcoming updates

Larger updates are being prepared in sequence, each with its own version number.

v1.1 — Controls & UI (planned for August, currently in testing)

A combined response to the areas where "hard to play" feedback has been concentrated: 2x/3x battle speed (during auto battle), canceling AUTO with the cancel button, selling previously unsellable equipment, gamepad improvements, instant on-screen updates for rewards and party changes, Steam Achievements, and more.

v1.2 — Sticker Photo Booth (in development)

A new facility that lets you change your character's appearance even after starting the game.

v1.3 — Quality of Life (planned)

Sorting for inventory and storage, an item lock feature, and adjustments to rough spots in the level design — updates that make everyday play smoother.

v1.4 — Going Global (under consideration)

We are considering additional language support and more.

Please keep sharing your reports and requests on the Steam Community. We read every single one and carefully consider how to build a better experience. Thank you for your continued support.

P.S. The update plans above (contents and timing) may change. We will release each update in order, only after confirming that the fixes do not introduce new issues.
