Hello, I'm the developer of TEAM NIRIZ.
Thank you as always for playing TOOSIN and for your continued interest in the game.
After taking another look at the game as a whole, I felt that there are still many fundamental areas that need improvement, including the UI and controls, switching between keyboard/mouse and gamepad input, localization, character animations, graphics and VFX, various bugs, and performance issues.
Before continuing to add new content, I believe it is more important to first improve the overall usability and polish of the current game.
Therefore, the upcoming 1.4 update will focus less on adding new content and more on improving the game's overall quality, including UI, controls, animations, graphics, localization, bug fixes, and optimization.
Once these fundamental areas have been properly improved through this update, I would also like to work on DLC featuring new characters, new content, and additional game modes.
As this update covers a wide range of areas, I would greatly appreciate your patience.
I am currently going through the entire game again and fixing each issue one by one. As this update covers a wide range of areas, I would greatly appreciate your patience.
1. Complete UI and Control Improvements
I am currently reviewing all of the UI throughout the game.
Some screens currently lack visual consistency, while certain menus use different control behaviors. There are also cases where UI focus or mouse input does not behave naturally when switching between gamepad and keyboard/mouse controls.
This update will improve not only the appearance of the UI, but also how it actually feels and functions during gameplay.
- Improve the overall UI design and readability
- Unify menu and button designs
- Improve and replace existing UI images and textures
- Improve UI animations and screen transitions
- Improve gamepad UI navigation
- Fix UI focus navigation issues
- Improve switching between keyboard/mouse and gamepad input
- Improve mouse input handling between gameplay and menus
- Fix UI issues related to resolution and aspect ratio
- Fix UI elements that are displayed incorrectly or do not function properly
Since the UI is one of the elements players interact with most frequently, I am working on improving it across the entire game.
2. Complete Character Animation Improvements
Character animations are also being reworked across the game.
Some characters currently use animations that do not properly match their body type or weapon, and several characters share very similar movement animations.
There are also cases where animations do not transition naturally when changing movement direction, or where transitions between movement and attack animations feel abrupt.
I am especially reviewing eight-directional movement and combat animations.
- Rework movement animations for each character
- Improve eight-directional movement
- Replace animations that do not properly match certain characters or weapons
- Improve attack animations
- Improve hit reaction animations
- Improve transitions between movement and combat
- Improve animation blending
- Reorganize Animation Montages and animation structures
- Improve attack animations that use Root Motion
- Improve upper-body and lower-body animation handling
The goal is to make each character move more naturally while also making each character feel more distinct during gameplay.
3. Graphics and VFX Improvements
Graphics and combat effects are also being improved.
Rather than drastically changing the existing visual style, I am focusing on improving weaker areas while making attacks and hit reactions easier to read during combat.
- Improve attack VFX
- Improve hit VFX
- Improve skill effects
- Improve combat screen effects
- Review and improve lighting
- Improve post-processing effects
- Improve materials and certain graphical elements
- Adjust effects that excessively obstruct visibility
The goal is to improve both combat impact and visual clarity.
4. Graphics and Performance Optimization
Alongside the graphical improvements, I am also reviewing the game's performance.
I am investigating temporary frame drops and GPU load that can occur in certain situations, while also optimizing graphical elements that consume unnecessary performance.
Unused resources and duplicate assets are also being cleaned up.
My goal is to improve the graphical quality while also making the game more stable to play.
5. Full Review of Major Game Systems and Bugs
This update is not limited to visible improvements. I am also reviewing the game's major systems from the beginning.
- Traits
- Perks
- Character stats
- Stat screen
- Save and load systems
- Permanent progression system
- Ranked Mode
- Leaderboards
- Infinite Mode
- Combat and reward processing
- Data synchronization between game systems and UI
I am not simply checking whether each feature works. I am also verifying that calculated values, saved values, values actually applied in gameplay, and values displayed in the UI all match correctly.
I am also looking for and fixing bugs or logical errors that occur only under specific conditions.
6. Localization and Text Improvements
Localization and text display issues are also being reviewed.
- Fix missing translations
- Improve unnatural translations
- Fix UI issues caused by different text lengths between languages
- Fix font and character display issues in certain languages
- Fix text that extends outside UI boundaries
- Fix incorrect descriptions and text
Since TOOSIN supports multiple languages, I will continue checking and improving issues where localization and UI do not work properly together.
7. Internal Project Structure Cleanup
Although this is not something players will directly see, I am also carrying out a major cleanup of the project's internal structure.
Over the course of development, various test assets, retargeted animations, Blueprints, and other files have accumulated, making parts of the project structure unnecessarily complicated.
I am currently reviewing which assets are actually being used and reorganizing the project accordingly.
- Remove unused assets
- Remove duplicate retargeted animations
- Reorganize the folder structure
- Reorganize Blueprint structures
- Clean up Animation Blueprints
- Clean up Animation Sequences
- Clean up Animation Montages
- Remove test and temporary assets
I am cleaning up the internal project structure so that future characters and content can be developed more reliably.
1.4 Update
The main focus of the 1.4 update is not to add a large amount of new content, but to improve the overall quality and polish of the existing game.
I am reviewing the entire game, including the UI, controls, animations, graphics, VFX, localization, game systems, bug fixes, and optimization.
Once these fundamental areas have been properly improved, I would like to move on to developing DLC, new characters, and additional content.
I am keeping track of all changes made during development, and once the 1.4 update is complete, I will also publish a full patch note detailing everything that has changed.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you as always for playing TOOSIN and for your continued support.
