The Crimson Hunt is Now Available!
Watch on YouTube ↗The day has finally arrived! The Crimson Hunt is now available for everyone!
First of all, I want to apologize for the delay and for the lack of announcements recently. I’ve been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to polish the game as much as possible and make sure everything was ready for launch.
I want to sincerely thank this community for all your support. None of this would have been possible without you.
This is the biggest game I’ve worked on so far. As a solo developer, it can sometimes be difficult to meet everyone’s expectations, so I want to be honest about what this game represents. The Crimson Hunt was made with a lot of love and passion, but it was also developed by one person with a very limited budget.
However, that has never stopped me from taking risks, adding new mechanics, and pushing myself to try something new with every project.
This time, I also had the opportunity to work with some incredible people. A huge thank you to Cynthia and Jeanine, who wrote the game's script and contributed countless valuable ideas that helped shape its world and characters.
I also want to thank all of the amazing voice actors who brought these characters to life with so much passion and talent. Their performances gave the characters a personality and presence that I never could have imagined when I first started the project.
And last but certainly not least, thank you to everyone in the community who helped test the game, reported bugs, shared feedback, and supported the project along the way. Your help has been truly invaluable and was one of the biggest driving forces behind getting this game finished.
A Couple of Frequently Asked Questions
I also want to clarify some things that have been frequently asked about, both here and on other platforms.
Co-op Characters
In co-op mode, while the second character has access to some additional passive tools that can help stun enemies or avoid combat, they can equip any weapon in the game, just like the first player.
The second character is not limited to a passive role. Each player can choose how they want to play. The story provides each character with some unique tools that complement their personality, but ultimately, you decide which weapons to equip. There are no weapon restrictions based on character.
Character Outfits
Regarding character outfits: because I know how much this feature means to many of you, I’ve decided to delay it rather than rush it into the launch.
I want to take the necessary time to give the outfits their own personality and make sure they don’t introduce additional programming issues. I also have plans to include some surprises and things you haven’t seen in my previous games.
So, I ask for your patience and understanding. I truly believe the wait will be worth it when the next major update arrives.
Use of AI
I also want to address the use of AI in the game, as I know this has been a concern for some people.
AI was only used to create a few images, including the game's cover art. I understand that this decision has received some criticism, and I want to make it clear that my intention was never to diminish or replace the work of artists.
This decision was mainly made because of the time and budget limitations of the project. However, one of my main goals moving forward is to work with an artist who can take over this part of the project. Steps are already being taken toward that, and I hope to have more news to share soon.
I also want to make it clear that the rest of the game was created by real people. The voices, writing, narrative, character work, and all the other aspects involved in creating the game were done by people who were directly involved in the project and compensated for their work.
I truly appreciate everyone's understanding, and I hope this helps clarify how AI was used in The Crimson Hunt.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support.
I hope you enjoy The Crimson Hunt and that you can feel the love and passion that went into every detail.
As always, there will be things to learn and improve along the way, but without a doubt, this is only the beginning of something much bigger.
Thank you, and enjoy the hunt! 🩸
P.S. I am very sorry for the delay in the game's launch; it was out of my hands, and I had to wait much longer than usual for Steam to review and approve the game. However, as an apology, I decided to offer the biggest possible launch discount (20%).
