A Standard Deviation is out now!
Hi everyone. A Standard Deviation launches today!
A bit later than I anticipated, but anyway. I'm curious to know what you all think of it.
A Standard Deviation is a puzzle / adventure game about exploring an exotic planet and its physics-bending phenomena. The unique core mechanic of "diffraction" lets playable characters and others split into a multitude of colored components. In your adventure you'll be accompanied by a colorful crew of space pirates and will face unexpectedly bad guys. Can you keep yourself together long enough to find the mythical treasure of Goldsuit Gus?
- Play with light and physics-bending mechanics inspired by optics.
- Explore an handcrafted map full of secrets.
- Visuals effects and customization achieved using a novel spectral rendering technique.
- Side activities like camping and bug-catching.
- A codec-style radio system that you can use to get hints.
- Color-blindness accessibility options.
- No Generative AI was used in the production, pre-production and post-production of A Standard Deviation.
The game is available here on Steam and also on itch. You can also find a new trailer for the game on Youtube.
