Maritime Simulator Version 1.0 — Leaving Early Access!

Maritime Simulator Version 1.0 — Leaving Early Access!

Version 1 brings new tools for managing busy shifts, a harder traffic mode, a refreshed interface, and fixes to barrier and pilot operations. We also had to issue a Version 1.0.1 hotfix in this round of updates, details are included below.

New features since Update 0.3

  • Vessel Traffic Board: View vessels in a sortable list with their direction, assigned span, speed, live ETA, and status. Select a vessel to centre it on the map.
  • Traffic board search and filters: Search the board or show vessels awaiting a span, needing a pilot, stopped, or involved in an incident.
  • VTS Event Log: Follow a timeline of radio calls, span changes, stops, pilot activity, warnings, and emergencies.
  • Pilot Dispatch Board: Track pilot availability, assignments, boarding progress, and return trips. Three pilots are available, making dispatch decisions more important during heavy traffic.
  • Hard traffic mode: Choose faster vessel arrivals and a greater share of cargo vessels and tankers from the main menu.

Improvements and fixes

  • Refreshed the Settings, Radio, and Map Filters panels to match the newer traffic and dispatch interfaces.
  • Improved the Traffic Mode selector’s size and position on the main menu so it sits clear of the logo and Play Sim button.
  • Made the Settings checkmarks and Save/Close labels easier to read.
  • Added close buttons and outside-click closing to the new operational panels, including the Vessel Traffic Board.
  • Fixed a tanker remaining stopped after its pilot boarded and a closed barrier span reopened.
  • Fixed pilot tugs being blocked by multiple cargo vessels or tankers waiting at the tug stopboards. Tugs can now reach the vessels they were sent to assist. (Version 1.0.1 hotfix)

Thank you to everyone who played during Early Access and helped shape our Version 1 full release.
