FUT Developer Launch Update

Welcome to our first FUT Developer Notes for FC 27.

It’s been great to see you building your squads, trying out the new ways to play and progress, and sharing plenty of feedback along the way.

With the first few days of FC 27 behind us, we wanted to talk a little more about what we’re seeing across Ultimate Team, some of the conversations we’re following closely, and what the team is already working on.

Gameplay is also an important part of the Ultimate Team experience, so make sure to take a read of the recent Gameplay Developer Notes.

What We’re Hearing From You

It’s been exciting for us to see how players are taking to The Gallery. We’re seeing players share strategies, find creative ways to complete Set Grades, and chase the Hall of FUT players they want most.

It’s been especially encouraging to see Gallery give more Player Items a reason to matter, even when they aren’t going straight into your squad. We’ll continue to add new Sets and refresh the Token Store, and we’re excited to see how your Galleries develop from here.

That change is already having an impact. Coin balances are more than 10% higher than at the same point last year. We’re also seeing plenty of activity on the Transfer Market, with more Starting XI players being picked up from the Market.

It’s an encouraging early sign that having more flexibility is giving you more choice in how you build and improve your team.

Beyond the Transfer Market, we noticed many players are spending time with the new PvE Live Events. So far, they’re the third most played FUT experience behind Rivals and Squad Battles. We know having more ways to play matters, and we’ll continue building on Live Events as the year progresses.

Finally, more than 150,000 players have already linked their EA Account with partner sites like FUT.GG, FUTBIN and FUTWIZ. We’ve loved seeing what those sites are already building with the data, and we’re looking forward to giving them more to work with over time.

One of the biggest conversations we’re following right now is around Evolutions and the broader pace of squad progression.

We know how important Evos are for keeping the players you care about in your team.

We’re looking at all the different ways you can improve your squad, whether its Evolutions, SBCs, mode rewards and Campaigns, to make sure they feel balanced alongside one another.

We’ll keep listening as squads develop and make sure the different paths to improving your team continue to feel worthwhile.

Streamlined SBCs have also been a big part of the early conversation. We’re hearing that many players appreciate being able to complete SBCs with less friction. We’re also seeing useful quality-of-life suggestions, like better ways to mark or favourite the players you want to keep. Keep those suggestions coming, this is a feature we expect to keep improving.

We also know the balance between rewards earned across FUT and what appears in the Store matters a lot. This year, we’ve taken a more focused approach to Store offers, with fewer offers, and changes to how those offers are structured.

That same thinking carries into Campaigns, where we’re taking a more focused approach with smaller Campaign squads.

We’re also watching how the increased end-of-match rewards feel over time, particularly as players reach daily limits and weekly milestones. The goal is simple, even after you’ve reached a major reward threshold, playing another match should still feel like it moves your Club forward.

What We’re Working On

On 28 September, we brought Streamlined SBCs to the Companion App, making it easier to complete and manage SBCs when you’re away from your console or PC.

We know how much of your squad management happens away from the console or PC, so having Streamlined SBCs available on the Companion App should make completing and managing SBCs much easier.

Now that it’s in your hands, we’ll keep building on it with more quality-of-life improvements based on your feedback.

We’re also building on the early response to PvE Live Events, with more capabilities planned as we move through the opening Seasons. The same is true for end-of-match rewards. What you’re seeing today is the starting point, and we have more ways to reward playing matches planned for later in the year.

As we move into upcoming Campaigns, we’ll keep a close eye on how smaller, more focused squads are landing and how long new Player Items continue to feel meaningful in your Club. Destined for Glory gives us another opportunity to build on that approach and keep the chase for new players exciting without making what you already have feel outdated too quickly.

Gallery will continue to grow through new Sets and Token Store updates, and we’re continuing to collect feedback and work through known issues as we look to enhance your experience.

And for those of you using partner sites, we’re working toward making more FUT data available through those integrations. More than 150,000 linked accounts this early tells us these tools are already becoming a meaningful part of how some players plan and manage their Clubs, and we’re excited to see where that can go next.

We’ll keep you posted as we make progress, with more to share in the weeks ahead. We’ll also be hosting a FUT specific Q&A in the Official EA SPORTS FC Discord, stay tuned for an official date and time announcement. You can also continue to share your FUT 27 feedback through the Player Feedback Portal.
