Patch #1 - 1.0a
In this first patch it's mostly bug-fixing, but there are some changes to Chapter 6 as well!
Chapter 6 Rebalance + Future Plans For Difficulty
I have heard all of your feedback that Chapter 6 was not fun for a lot of players and restricts some of what people like from Dicevaders. Thanks for the feedback!
I had originally intended it to be a "one time" fight, like a true ending-type fight, but I now think it could be better framed and that there should be a different "hardest" difficulty that is meant to be replayable and still has the variability of the previous Chapters.
I want to create a new difficulty that satisfies these concerns, but I need to spend more time on it and not half-ass it, so it will come in a future big update (like in a 1.1 or 1.2).

For this patch, there is not a lot of time to make big changes, so I will simply be nerfing the Chapter 6 bosses to something that doesn't feel as punishing and fun to play, though more changes may come later!
- Bud now only locks 2 perk slots. One of the worst feelings is not having time to finish a Bud perk quest during the fight. Now the first perk slot is guaranteed, leaving only 2 quests for you to complete for the rest of the fight.
- Tippy always has the same pattern. It will now block in the same order every time (basically counter-clockwise, starting from the bottom-right grid. There's also a little arrow that shows you where they are going next!). This gives you the chance to plan around how you want to deal with the fight.
- Robo-Min is Ok. With the easier prior bosses, it won't be as hard to scale so you should be in a good spot for this boss fight.
- The STAR now grants you an extra turn each time you pass the threshold. You'll get 3 extra turns in the fight, and it also fixes that weirdness where you are guaranteed to lose if you don't have enough turns to generate enough doom.
This doesn't fix everything I want, and I will be working on a new difficulty for a later update, but I think it's a good start! Also note that these changes also affect the Ultimate Earth multiverse challenge.
Bugfixes
The rest of the patch is bug fixes!
- From the hotfix on Day 1:
- Fix fonts not automatically updating depending on the language on game startup
- Fix a few font scale issues when playing in Simplified Chinese
- Fix font sometimes using Chinese characters when playing in Japanese
- New fixes:
- Fix of Russian font scaling issue
- Many small localization fixes (mostly to Simplified Chinese)
- Fix rewinding breaking the tutorial
- Fix softlock getting stuck in Constellation Screen
- Fix double-counting mega-brain XP preview
- Fix Silverheart counting as a "triggerable" artifact when it isn't
- Some more stuff I probably forgot! Sorry, I'm not that good at changelogs
Thank you so much for leaving reviews! Our first few days have been full of reading feedback and squashing bugs. Please keep them coming!
There's a lot more to come! The game is getting great traction and we're already working on post-release content - a roadmap will be revealed soon! We're keeping an eye on everywhere, including the Steam Forums and our Discord.
