We're Back! A Major Update Ten Years Later

Ten Years Later: Our First Major We Are The Dwarves Update Is Live!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/395570/We_Are_The_Dwarves
We're back with new camera controls, smoother gameplay, improved stealth, and a host of fixes in our biggest update since launch.
Hello, Dwarves!
We Are The Dwarves launched on Steam in 2016. Ten years later, we're finally returning with our first major update since release.
This is a special moment for our team. We wanted to revisit the game and address the things that could get in the way of enjoying the adventure: camera controls, targeting, the upgrade menu, and some frustrating quest requirements.
Thank you to everyone who kept playing, shared their experiences, and left reviews over the years. Your feedback directly shaped many of the changes in this update.
Here's what's new.

Overhauled Camera Controls
We've added several new ways to explore your surroundings and plan your squad's next move.
- Tilt up and down: Adjust your viewing angle to get a better look at the terrain, enemies, and your route.
- Save your preferred view: Save the camera's rotation, tilt, and zoom, then return to that view with a single button press.
- Move the camera around the active dwarf: Peek behind obstacles and explore nearby surroundings without moving your entire squad.
- Smoother rotation: A new dynamic rotation speed system makes camera movement smoother and more comfortable.

A More Convenient Upgrade Menu
You can now switch between all three dwarves directly in the upgrade menu. There's no need to close it and select a different active character.
We've also improved the menu's layout and navigation, and added the repair cost for each layer of your suit's armor.
More Responsive Controls
We've addressed several issues that were particularly noticeable during combat:
- Abilities can now be canceled by pressing the same button used to activate them.
- Mouse targeting is more reliable.
- Fixed cases where a dwarf would run toward an enemy instead of attacking.

Improved Tutorials
We've added new tutorial tips and clarified explanations of the game's mechanics.
Loading screens no longer close automatically, giving you time to read the tips before continuing.
Revised Quest Requirements and Level Fixes
We've fixed several quest progression issues and revisited some mandatory objectives.
- Removed certain requirements to kill multiple enemies simultaneously, including shamans and fishmen who raise the alarm.
- Moved Dwarven Stones to more visible locations.
- Fixed various quest-related bugs.
Losing a dwarf in a swamp no longer automatically ends the game. Their body is moved to the nearest patch of solid ground, allowing you to continue the mission.
More Reliable Stealth for Shadow
We've fixed an issue that allowed enemies to determine which hiding spot Shadow had moved to using his ability.
His stealth movement is now more reliable, giving you more confidence when scouting, slipping past enemies, and taking them out unseen.
Optimization and Bug Fixes
We've also worked on performance, fixed numerous interface bugs, and resolved technical issues that affected the gameplay experience.
The update is available now to everyone who owns We Are The Dwarves on Steam.
If you haven't played in a while, we'd love to welcome you back to try the changes. If your first expedition is still ahead of you, we'll see you in the Stone Universe!
Let us know in the comments how the new camera and controls feel. Your impressions and bug reports will help us understand how these changes are working for you.
Thank you for sticking with us after all these years.
