Launch is almost here! Here's what you need to know
It’s been a long time coming, but Penguin Colony is almost here!
So, what all should you know before the big day?
Release Date
Some of you eagle-eyed (penguin-eyed?) followers may have noticed a slight change in release date over the last couple of weeks. Originally slated for October 8th to coincide with LudoNarraCon, Penguin Colony will now be launching on October 16th at 10am PT. We’re still part of LudoNarraCon, but now as an Upcoming Game.
Why the delay? Nothing huge, the game is finished and runs great. There are a few tweaks here and there, and some localization things to lock down. And we want to give the best chance possible to get some really cool DLC ready for launch too. More on that in a minute.
Launch Trailer
Tali at ORIGAME DIGITAL had a heck of a challenge in figuring out how to make a definitive trailer for Penguin Colony.
Over the last year, he has created a staggering number of trailers to showcase this game to different audiences.
There was the initial Reveal Trailer, then a new trailer Penguin Colony joined the Fellow Traveller label. Then there was an insane gauntlet of trailers in June with an Expanded Story Trailer for the Story-Rich Showcase, an environment-focused trailer for Green Games Showcase, and finally a focused look at the game’s indigenous roots for Frosty Fest.
And THEN, in the past month, there have been new showcase trailers for the retro event Pixel Arcadia (inspired by the famous Metal Gear Solid 4 reveal trailer) and most recently Game Devs of Color.
So how do you say something you haven’t already said in this new, ultimate trailer for Penguin Colony?

Find out and watch the launch trailer on October 8th (our original release date!) at the Convergence Showcase.
Launch Bundles
We’ll have a ton of exciting ways to upgrade your Day 1 experience of Penguin Colony.
TenebrisSomnia

Moving to October 16th means we’re launching on the same day as another terrific indie horror game - Tenebris Somnia, a 2D retro survival horror adventure game with live action cutscenes.
For a limited time, buying both games together means saving an additional 20% off, on top of both games’ launch bundles! Indie retro horror fans are eating well October 16th.
Deluxe Edition
There are 3 things we’re gearing up to put in the Deluxe Edition - 2 of which are confirmed, and one is in progress, but still TBD!
First up is the soundtrack, featuring music from David Mason (Dredge), KOMMI, and Rachel Khan. Paired with the soundtrack is over 2.5 hours of Director’s Commentary from Naphtali Faulkner.
UPDATE: The third didn't come together quite quickly enough to get approved by Steam in time, but trust when we say that it’s something very cool for Lovecraft fans and a great way of making the most of our partnership with the legendary Lenval Brown (Disco Elysium).
Pricing and details TBD!
1000xRESIST

Among Fellow Traveller’s own games, a bundle with 1000xRESIST just makes sense. Both are thematically rich walking sims with unapologetic artistic expression. We’re so proud to have both of these games on our label.

Save an additional 10% on both games (or save 10% on Penguin Colony if you already own 1000xRESIST).
Umurangi Generation

And, of course, how could we launch a new game from ORIGAME DIGITAL without a bundle with their original and IGF-winning cyberpunk photography game, Umurangi Generation?
Save an additional 10% on both games (or save 10% on Penguin Colony if you already own Umurangi Generation).
Be sure to check out the launch trailer on October 8th and then meet back here on the 16th to play Penguin Colony!
