Watch on YouTube ↗Welcome back to the Feature Focus series, where we delve into numerous features in Warhammer Survivors, such as Status Effects, Enemy Skills and more.
Today, we’re taking a look at Pick-up Items you can find scattered around the faction-themed light sources. These powerful items can help in a pinch, clearing wide swathes of enemies or healing you just before that Clan Rat sticks you with a rusted blade.
Pick-up items vary depending on which universe you’re playing in, and while some may behave similarly between universes, most of them are unique to their respective universe.
Extreme Ordinances of Warhammer 40,000

Melta-Bomb
In Warhammer Survivors, there are a number of grenade pick-ups, including the Frag Grenade – which also serves as The Legend of Catachan’s base weapon, who hurls them around without impunity.
A Frag Grenade is good ‘n’ all, but explosive connoisseurs might be looking for something that packs a punch. We introduce you to the Melta-bomb, a highly powerful grenade pick-up that unleashes a blast of deadly thermal energy. When thrown, there’s a slight delay before the explosion occurs, so you can kite a mob of enemies toward its radius for maximum impact!

Blast Template
Conjured by nostalgia for Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition, the translucent Blast Template lands on the screen and triggers a massive explosion, destroying all enemies on the screen. But, beware! Some enemies may be resistant to insta-kill effects.

Hellfire Ammo
Used by Sternguard Veterans, like Malum Caedo, Hellfire Ammo are specialised bolter rounds filled with acid – the antithesis to any encroaching Tyranid swarm.
When Hellfire Ammo is acquired in Warhammer Survivors, the damage of all ranged attacks temporarily increases, as well as inflicting enemies with the Poisoned status effect. Perfect for whittling down your enemies before they can scythe you with horrifying alien claws and limbs.
Endless Spells of Warhammer Age of Sigmar

Purple Sun of Shyish
The harbinger of annihilation. The Purple Sun of Shyish favours none – obliterating all caught in its wicked rays with fell magics. Once the Endless Spell is fully manifested, it unleashes damaging zones striking anything caught in the unholy light – even the player!
This cosmic conjuration whizzes off-screen when it’s done, but it works in mysterious ways, so there may be a method to bring it to your side for longer. The answer to that, though, will have to wait until Warhammer Survivors launches later this year.

Ravenak’s Gnashing Jaws
What if we told you that you could have your very own pet of fiery GNASHING JAWS?! Pretty neat, right?
Ravenak's Gnashing Jaws are the embodiment of hunger, an insatiable devourer that tears through anything that moves. When picked up, the Gnashing Jaws tethers to the player, chomping nearby enemies in any direction the player moves, inflicting damage and applying the Burning status effect on the poor enemies who endure its bite. The Gnashing Jaws aren’t picky – it’ll take a bite out of ANYTHING!

Suffocating Gravetide
If you’re into inflicting Status Effects, the Suffocating Gravetide is for you! This buffet of the spectral, restless dead crashes against the enemy, stunning all caught in their hallowed clutches. Following that, any enemy struck will fall into a pall of horror, fleeing temporarily – giving you a moment of respite, or a moment to enact retribution!
See you next time!
