The Faction Quest Update part 2 is LIVE
As chosen by the Update Poll, again in an amazing tie between working on Factions or Quests, the second part of the Factions&Quests Update is up! Featuring a massive list of mechanical changes with many long-requested features and expansions, plus important bug fixes!
Changelog
- New Faction Items: Declarations of Peace and War! Written by Leaders, and used to improve, or destroy, the relationship between two Factions. These major Items also cause all other Factions to respect them more or less depending on their courage or cowardice!
- You can now take over a Faction if you: Are a Superior in it, have 100% Reputation, and kill all Leaders!
- You can now be pardoned from Banishment or Betrayal by Leaders of the Faction. They won't restore your Reputation or previous Role, but at least now you can try to join again!
- You now also need at least 50% Reputation with a Faction to be promoted to a Superior in it
- NPCs can now attack or flee from each other based on their Factions' Relationships and their Job (fighters or not)
- Re-defined the Relationships between several Factions at the start of the game to avoid them all being at War with each other
- Renamed the Monsters Class Faction to Wilderness, to better differentiate it from the monster-racial Factions
- Two new Quest types: Build and Demolish! Guess what people will ask of you for both of them!
- Added Fame and specific Faction Reputation boosts to possible Quest rewards for some quest-giver Jobs!
- Added two new Continuation/Chain Quests: Escort from Kill, where the target asks you to Escort them somewhere else to hide; and Kill for Steal, where they demand capital punishment for the crime
- Expanded Quest's descriptions/flavor texts, by adding a reason why the Quest-giver can't do it themselves, or why they chose you instead
- Added Strong Refined Metal/Wood/Fabric Materials as options for Quest Rewards
- Added Enchanted Equipment as an option for Quest Rewards, instead of it being random
- Added Milk Buckets, Water Buckets, Web and Venom as possible targets for Collect Quests
- Adjusted what targets for Collect Quests each Quest-giver NPC Job can ask for
- Adjusted what rewards each Quest-giver NPC Job can offer
- Slightly reduced the chance of Delivery Quests continuing/chaining with each other
- You can now choose in Advanced Options where the game's data will be saved, including external drives and anywhere else, rolling to the default location if invalid or unavailable!
- Added a mention to the fact Arachnid's lower bodies are too big to fit through small holes as a disadvantage in their Racial Perk's description
- Added a mention to the fact Vampires burn in water in their Perk's description
- Added several more words and suffixes to name generation
- Arachnids no longer get the Help text telling them how to Climb
- Bonfires and chimneys' smoke particles now obey the Particles setting in Options/Graphics
- If you eat a body and have both the Cannibalism and Omniphagia Perks, you now also eat all the Items in the body instead of dropping them
- Improved Arachnid's natural climbing ability when going up straight walls
- Items that break are now marked as unowned, and thus no longer stolen (Theseus ship or whatever)
- Lycanthropes now get the Werewolf Eyes and Claws Perks even if they're not transformed
- Made it so Items dropped because of container destruction or body devouring spawn less high up, to avoid them bonking you on the head
- Merged the Lightfoot and Quickfoot Stealth Skill Perks into one, and replaced Quickfoot with Quickfinger, which makes it so Special/Power Attacks now scale with your Weapon's Speed (to basically make Daggers viable Stealth-kill weapons)
- Nerfed the Disposition gain from feeding Animals to tame them, but made it scale with your and their Charisma
- Removed straight bones, ivory, hides and logs from the Fertilizer list, to avoid spending these materials accidentally
- Repair Kits can now be used instead of only Combined to quickly repair you Main or Off Hand Weapons/Shields/Tools
- Skinwalkers now get the Abilities of Vampires, Werewolves, Devils and Liches they eat, while the skin lasts
- Two-Handed Skill Perks now work with Bows, Crossbows and Muskets
- Undead and Skinwalker NPCs now decompose faster into their Skeleton/Zombie forms when dead
- When salting multiple foods, you now get Cooking Skill EXP proportional to the stack's size
- You now get 33% more Athletics Skill EXP if you're underwater and holding your breath
- Fixed a bug where a Rescuee would have the Quest Giver's Effects, including from enchanted equipment they don't own
- Fixed Arachnid's lower body detaching when they try to jump again in midair
- Fixed being able to write natural abilities in Blank Grimoires (which caused all sorts of issues) as if they were normal Spells
- Fixed bodies that decompose not properly updating their Global Death Status (for faction destruction and kill quests)
- Fixed bugs that caused Stamina to keep being spent even if not moving or running
- Fixed bug that caused Gatekeepers that abandon their posts to disappear
- Fixed crashes and other issues when forcing an NPC to Transfrom by using an Item in their Inventory
- Fixed NPC Arachnids not being a part of the Monsters Class Faction
- Fixed NPCs' aniamtion flipping out when they're Surrendering or interacting with props while under the effects of Ailments
- Fixed null name for Venom when choosing the object of a Fillup Effect for Spells or Enchantments
- Fixed Silk Equipment not being repairable using Silk fabric of the same level
- Fixed some races not having their nose properly editable, or being able to edit races with nonexisting noses
- Other misc fixes and improvements
