Lost Region: Word From Development Team
Hello everyone!
We have started receiving more messages asking about Lost Region. Since LR was our first major project and remains very important to us at Farom Studio, we wanted to give you a clear update on where things currently stand.
Lost Region Is Still on Track
The most important thing first:
Lost Region is still part of our plans.
Full production is currently paused, but the project has not been canceled or forgotten. A small part of the team continues working on Lost Region in the background, preparing assets and laying groundwork that we will be able to use once full development resumes.
During this quieter period, we have already created a considerable amount of new content for the project, including:
- Weapons and sidearms
- Vehicles
- Buildings
- Clothing and equipment
- Additional environment and gameplay assets
So when Lost Region returns to active production, we will not be starting from zero.
Why Development Was Postponed
Farom Studio currently operates using an Outsource -> Develop model.
We earn revenue through contract work and reinvest that money into our own games.
When we reviewed the scope of Lost Region, it became clear that bringing it to the quality level we want would require a substantial financial investment. Rather than pushing the project forward without enough resources, we decided to focus our main production capacity on a project that could reach a complete and commercially sustainable state sooner.
We Also Want to Rethink Lost Region
The pause has also given us an opportunity to reconsider parts of the game's visual direction.
We want Lost Region to feel like a believable modern-era apocalypse, and some of the original visual decisions no longer represent the quality or atmosphere we want to achieve today.
When development resumes, we want the project to return stronger - not simply continue exactly where it stopped.
What's Next?
For everyone who has been waiting for Lost Region: thank you for still being here.
The project remains in our backlog, assets continue to be prepared, and the foundation is waiting for the point when we can move the team back into full production.
But Lost Region is still a Farom Studio project.
