Piworld 1.0.0 — we are out of Early Access 🎉 Two and a half years, thousands of hours of work and one small team. Thank you for walking this road with us.
🌱 Where it all began Two and a half years ago we had nothing: an empty project, a few ideas and the wish to make our own survival game. No world, no character, not a single tree. Our first commit was simply called "initial commit".
We made Piworld as a small team, in the evenings and on weekends, and we learned as we went. Some parts we rewrote three times, some we threw away completely. Every complaint, every bug report and every idea you shared on Discord made the game better.
🌍 What we have today Today Piworld is a living world to play with friends: 🗺️ A huge world of islands: the starting lands, and around them a ring of wild waters: the lands of vikings, dwarves and elves 🧭 329 items and more than 70 kinds of creatures and NPCs 👑 A chain of 6 bosses: from the Slime King to the UFO ⚔️ Swords, bows, a crossbow, a boomerang, a net, a harpoon, bombs, hammers, daggers and a grappling hook ⛏️ Ores from copper to mithril and meteor steel, gems, the anvil and runes 🌾 Farming, fishing, cooking, your own houses and bases ⛵ Boats and rafts, meteors, raids, buried treasure and the blood moon 📖 A journal, daily tasks, collections and a path for new players 🎙️ Voice chat with players near you 🎵 25 tracks written for the game and hundreds of recorded sounds 🌐 23 languages
Over this time the project grew by more than 2,500 changes. Each of them was a small step from an empty screen to the game you play today.
🎉 What 1.0.0 means Version 1.0.0 is not the finish line. It means Piworld has become the game we set out to make: big, complete and ready for everyone. We are not stopping. Updates, new lands, bosses and events will keep coming.
