What kind of flower was she, really? After leaving Asteroid B-612, the Little Prince kept thinking of her.

His planet had become a speck of light in the night sky, yet the Rose was clearer than ever in his mind. Her last words kept coming back to him. She had been foolish, she said, and she wished him happiness... Now that he had left his own planet, the Little Prince began to understand a flower's tenderness.

The Little Prince traveled from planet to planet. He met many people and heard many solemn words. The Businessman's words reminded him of what he had once had; the cosmic silence reminded him of the company he had once known. And a geographer's words taught him how fleeting a flower's life could be.

Flowers were never meant to last as long as mountains or rivers, let alone the stars. At night, the wind blew on his planet. There were seedlings he had not had time to pull up, and a rose with only four thorns. Those four thorns looked so impressive, but they could keep nothing at bay... The Little Prince began to understand a flower's fragility.

Beside the wheat fields, the Fox taught the Little Prince what taming meant. Even before he understood, he had already touched the shape of love. Caring for a flower had brought him the joy of having one of his own. Keeping a flower company had made each ordinary day feel new.

If you love a flower, all five thousand identical roses in the garden will wither in your heart. If you miss a flower, the night sky will no longer look the same. If you lose a flower, ten thousand stars will grow dim... The Little Prince gazed at the night sky and began to understand what it meant to love a flower.

The planet had grown quiet, and the Rose could hear an active volcano bubbling. The wind slipped past the nameless flowers with barely a sound. Before she came, the Little Prince had lived on this quiet planet, cleaning the volcanoes, telling one seedling from another, watching sunset after sunset... She began to understand a child's loneliness.

The night wind wasn't always gentle. After he left, nothing seemed different to the Rose at first. With four such impressive thorns, she had no need of a glass globe to shelter her. Besides, she was a very beautiful flower, and a beautiful flower ought to look composed.

But the nights quietly grew longer, and the wind turned cold. It kept shaking her branches and leaves and making her cough. Some days there was no dew to moisten her leaves. Back then, whenever she coughed, there was always the glass globe, the watering can, and his gentle words of concern... She began to understand how a child had cared for her.

On that planet, dust still settled on the volcanoes, sunsets still came on time, and baobab seeds still sprouted. The Rose recognized them. The roots of those unwelcome plants crept deeper day by day without a sound. She braced her four thorns against the spreading branches and leaves, just as brave as she had said she was.

Yet she kept thinking of what the Little Prince had said before he left, and of her own proud words. He had always looked over his planet so carefully, cleared away the bad seeds, and tended her petals so gently... She began to understand how a child showed his love.

One day, a year later, the Little Prince came back to his planet. Dust lay thick on the volcanoes, and the baobabs had grown tall. But the Rose had held back their spreading roots with her thorns. She was such a brave flower.

The Rose was holding off the baobabs when she saw the Little Prince. Even after a goodbye meant to be forever, she was not surprised to see him return. That was just the kind of child he was.

They had so very much to talk about: all that had happened while they were apart, and the meaning of longing, companionship, and love. Much that they had not understood before made sense to them now, and they were coming to know each other's hearts. But they did not have to say it all just then. There would be many, many more sunsets.

They both knew they would have a long, long time together.

The Inspiration Behind the Design

The design of If Some One Loves a Flower is inspired by "the one and only Rose on Asteroid B-612."

Taking its cue from the proud Rose in The Little Prince, the outfit blends the solitude of a faraway planet with her ardent spirit. Layers of petals unfurl across the gown, tracing the form of a blooming rose. The tender story of the Little Prince's devotion to his Rose is quietly woven into the design.

The Details Behind the Design

Dress: In His Echoes

At the bodice, a sheer cutout recalls the glass globe from the original story, holding a Rose in quiet bloom. The gown opens outward from the waist in layer upon layer of petals. Their naturally curled edges overlap at varying heights, creating the sculpted depth of a rose in full bloom.

A large white satin rose adorns the left side of the skirt, while a long, translucent white train falls behind. As she walks, the petals at the hem sway gently in the breeze, creating a light, soft sense of movement.

Hair: Finding Bad Seeds

Braided strands form an openwork heart, with pearls securing each crossing.

Headwear: Every Single Day

Two sculpted rose ornaments overlap to form the headwear, contrasting white with burgundy. Its silhouette curls inward like nested rose petals, while scattered pearls along the brim evoke a rose in bloom.

Backpiece: His Flower

A bouquet of satin and glass roses is arranged across the back at varying heights, flowing into red tulle dusted with golden shimmer. Soft gauze trails behind, while pearls and gleaming silver chains link the blooms for a delicate, romantic finish.

Shoes: When She Quietly Came

The uppers are adorned with soft white rose lacework and sculpted petals. Their hollow bases are filled with tiny pearls and dried rose petals.

Pearl chains circle the ankles, set with small jeweled roses that rest lightly against the skin. Another jeweled rose adorns each heel, with gold tracing its outline, gemstones forming its petals, and a pearl at its heart.

The Concept Behind the Ability

If Some One Loves a Flower tells a romantic story of waiting and homecoming.

The ability centers on roses and paper planes. When it is activated, a sea of roses in full bloom spreads beneath Nikki's feet. Longing from the depths of the heart becomes flowers, blooming one by one at her side. The wishes of those far away are folded into letters and carried home on paper planes, answering every hope. Wherever Nikki walks, roses quietly bloom in her wake.
