Final pre-release update

I know, I know, the game has been silently delayed for a while.

First and foremost, this is a solo project with no financial backing or motivation. I'm just here to try and release a fun game. I think I've been pretty clear and upfront with that.

But I'll be honest, this game has been sitting with little to no progress for the last 2 years. I took a pretty long break from building games in general.

Now what changed? I think to some it might be obvious, AI. And that is where I want to be very upfront and transparent here.

Ever since the start of this project, I've used AI for development assistance. The majority of this game was built back in 2024, when it was merely a simple autocomplete that let me turn my brain off while coding a little. I was and still am a full time engineer.

During that time though, the creation of assets and content became a massive bottleneck and drain to my motivation. To be straight up this game would probably never have launched if AI had not come to where it is now, purely because I have lost motivation for building the art and content required for the full game.

I take a firm stance on 0 AI generated content, no artwork, music, or sounds in any of my games will be generative. Its not out of some principle, It's only because I am not a fan of the results or the process.

What I have employed more recently though, is using AI to assist in writing code to produce procedural artwork. Is that the same? Maybe to some, but the results are materially close to my style and what I would have produced on my own with enough effort. That is what matters to me.

If that makes you not wanna buy my games, that is fine. There are plenty of great games out there to buy!

With all that said, for anyone actually reading this and interested in the game I am now extremely close to launch! The demo is now receiving a large update backporting all of the polish and improvements I've added during final content production for release. Release will follow shortly after.
