Rusted Awakening - The Current State and Plans
Hey guys, I’m in my truck right now. I got a camper on the back of it. I’m driving across the country with all my stuff in it and figuring out where I’m gonna live.
I want to give some updates on Rusted Awakening.
I really appreciate everyone who supported Rusted Awakening and given me feedback and all the bugs I need to fix. It’s great to hear some of you really enjoying the game
This was a pure passion project. I wasn’t sure it would ever see the light of day. It’s the first game I released, and it started six years ago and was on and off for a variety of reasons. I didn’t know anything about coding. I didn’t know anything about how to structure a project at that time, so things were and still are a bit messy, which makes it more challenging than it should be to fix certain things. I’m still gonna fix them and get them done, and I appreciate you guys supporting me.
Here are my plans currently.
I am driving across the country right now and I’m trying to make good time, so it’s gonna be limited how much I’m in front of the computer.
Immediately, of course, I need to fix the bugs that people are talking about. I’m also going to work to fix the long load time after the main menu.
I do agree that checkpoints in the middle of levels are needed so that you guys don’t have to repeat too much. That seems tedious, and there have also been some issues as far as bugs that are preventing people, and it really sucks if you have to restart because of a bug.
The next thing I’d like to do with Rusted Awakening, and I’m pretty sure about this, I’m still considering all options, but I would like to add a finale, which is gonna be a mini third level.
I don’t want to give too much away in terms of what I have in mind, but more of a final ending that sends Rusted Awakening off right. I also have some cut content I’d like to get in.
I appreciate you guys who supported me and shared this with anyone.
I am gonna start to send it to YouTubers. I’ve only sent it to two. This is as grass roots as it gets. I will send it to more people in October, especially with Halloween time coming around.
I’m gonna keep building on it and get those things out for you guys. I would love to have this done by early October. I have more plans to talk about soon, but that seems good enough for now.
I’m gonna keep driving. Take care of you guys. I’ll catch you later.
