Dungeon Tells 1.2 Breach Modes & More QOL

HEY THERE, DUNGEON KEEPERS!

I had another burst of inspiration thanks to all the feedback and the awesome creators on youtube playing the game and swung for the fences!

This is a dangerously ambitious patch to be adding so soon after the release, so I apologize ahead of time if you encounter any bugs with the new changes that I added, it's been a wild week!

So without further ado, here are the patch notes for the changes that will be coming to the preview first and then to the live main branch soon after:

NEW ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS

Two new options in the Settings menu.

READABLE CARD TEXT

You can now switch between the original pixel font and a more readable font.

The readable font will only affect hero thoughts and Evolution text.

AUTO-INTERPRET LIAR TAGS

Tagging a hero as a Liar can now automatically display the inverted interpretation of their statement and Evolution. For example, if a statement says: THE LIAR IS LVL25, Tagging its owner as a Liar may display: THE LIAR IS NOT LVL25.

This is only a visual aid. Tags never alter a hero’s real Personality, statement, Evolution, or combat result. If you prefer to invert statements mentally, you can disable this in the Settings menu.

BREACH DIFFICULTIES

Completing your first Dungeon now unlocks both Liars Den and Breach I.

BREACH I

More Liars are in on the escape.

The first three years contain two Liars, while the final two contain three. (up from 1/2)

BREACH II

The third Liar appears earlier, and the differences between hero LVLs are considerably smaller.

Choose your executions much more carefully!

BREACH III: THE VERDICT

Your Charm must now land precisely on its intended target.

The hero you Charm must have exactly one LVL tag assigned.

EXPANDED DRAWING TOOLS

The pencil tool has received a substantial upgrade!

  • Press D to enter or leave Draw mode.
  • Draw using the left mouse button.
  • Hold the right mouse button to erase with a brush ten times larger than your current pencil.
  • Use the mouse wheel or the + and - keys to change brush size.
  • Press Q or E to cycle between six drawing colours.
  • Press Z to undo and X to redo.
  • Double-right-click to clear the entire drawing.
  • Press F over a closed area to fill it with the selected colour.
  • Press Ctrl+S to export your drawing as a transparent PNG to your desktop.
  • The pencil pointer now changes colour to match the selected ink.
  • Drawing performance has been optimized.
  • The drawing interface and its buttons are now smaller and less intrusive.
  • The drawings are cleared automatically when combat begins.

SCORING & EVOLUTION RULES

A new RULES button in the Settings menu opens a detailed reference panel covering:

  • Tag scoring
  • Combat scoring
  • Mode-specific scoring
  • Evolution activation order
  • Automatic Liar interpretations
  • Breach rules
  • Sealed Verdict
  • Puzzle Scout dungeon sharing

CLUES FIXES

  • The Witch now respects perceived Personalities.
  • A lying Witch now accuses the nearest Honest hero instead of accidentally identifying a real Liar.
  • The Seeker’s wording now clarifies that she compares the strongest and weakest other heroes, excluding herself.

PUZZLE SCOUTS

  • After Charming, press Ctrl+Shift+D to copy your Dungeon code.
  • The code records the original setup for that Year.
  • A notification confirms when the code has been copied or explains why it is not ready.
  • The RULES panel includes a direct link to Discord, where you can send me your favourite setups!
