v1.0.1 Update: Fixes and Improvements — Thank You for Your Feedback
Hello, Captains,
Over the past few days we have read every review, chat message and piece of feedback you sent us. A number of these problems were our own mistakes, and they made the game frustrating to play. We are truly sorry.
This update focuses on the issues that hurt the most:
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a black screen after your ship sinks that left the game stuck instead of returning to the title screen
- Fixed a single pirate encounter at sea sometimes being settled twice, taking gold from you twice
- Fixed the gold display turning negative above 2.1 billion
- Fixed going all-in at Blackjack in the tavern with a very large balance taking 1–2 extra gold
- Fixed the shipyard letting you upgrade without enough gold; it now tells you first
Improvements
- Reworked Layla's market news: it is cheaper, every inquiry now turns something up, and she tells you which goods it is about and quotes a price based on how much the tip is worth (never more than 100,000). You can turn it down and still come back for it before you leave port
- The tavern's market news board is no longer left empty for long stretches; each time you enter a port you will get at least one nearby tip
- Relaxed the requirements for Elena's ending (the old ones were nearly impossible to reach in normal play; that was our mistake, and we are sorry)
- Added an Update Notes button to the title screen, where every future update will be explained
Leaderboard
- The leaderboard has moved to a new board that supports scores above 2.1 billion. Existing legitimate scores have already been carried over, so there is no need to replay.
What's Next
We have also noted other requests you raised, such as hiding the dialogue box and auto-repair when entering port, and will work through them in upcoming updates. We are also preparing special effects for the treasures that currently have no real use, so they can help your trading or boost your combat strength. Treasure you worked hard to dig up should be more than a collectible.
Thank you to every captain who took the time to tell us what wasn't working. If you run into any problems, please post in the Steam Community and we will respond as soon as possible.
