Dawnsbury Days 4.40 (magic items update)
This update adds some more items.
The one I had particular fun with is rod of wonder. Admittedly, it's not particularly useful in combat, but if sometimes you don't feel like thinking too hard, you can fire it up, roll a d100 and let the RNG gods take the wheel ^^

It also adds some famous effects that are easier to implement in the engine now but that I couldn't dream of earlier when I went over spells to implement initially:

The update also fixes some bugs, including some crash bugs.
Full patch notes:
Character content:
- New items: rod of wonder, grievous runestone, quenching runestone (+ greater, major), crown of the fire eater (+ greater, major), armbands of athleticism (+ greater), pendant of the occult (+ greater), eyes of the eagle, eye of the unseen (+ greater)
- New specific magic items: wasp guard, breastplate of command, literary robes (+ greater, major, true)
- New spells: globe of invulnerability
- New feats: The Harder They Fall (Ranger - against large creatures), The Harder They Fall (Rogue - against flat-footed creatures).
Rules fidelity:
- Archetypes (Eldritch Archer): Fixed that Enchanted Arrow bonus damage benefited from Weapon Specialization and other bonuses.
- Archetypes (Psychic): Fixed that your spellcasting ability (Intelligence or Charisma) was fixed the level you took the Psychic archetype, even if later on, your "best score" changed from Intelligence to Charisma or vice versa.
- Classes (Rogue): Fixed that if you took the Psychic archetype through Eldritch Trickster, your spellcasting ability would always be Intelligence, not Charisma, even if your Charisma was higher.
- Classes (Ranger, reversal!): The feat Favored Terrain now only grants you a bonus to movement speed starting at level 11, not immediately as you take the feat. (I misread the tabletop rules. The correct interpretation is that this movement speed secondary benefit only applies when you gain the wild stride feature, which happens at level 11.)
- Rules (Trip): Trip falling damage on a critical success is no longer enhanced by effects that normally only applies to true attacks.
- Items (staves): Fixed an interaction where if you used your unique highest-level spell slot from a prepared spellcasting archetype to charge your staff, your staff would not allow you to cast spells of that highest spell level, mistakenly considering that your maximum spell level from that archetype is 1 less than it actually is.
- Rules (Feint): Fixed that versatile-melee attacks such as Produce Flame didn't benefit from Feint when used in melee.
- Rules (animal companions): Fixed that if an animal companion regained life at the start of its turn while unconscious, e.g. because of fast healing or regeneration, it would continue its turn instead of waiting for its master's turn.
- Rules: Fixed that versatile-melee attacks such as Elemental Blast or Produce Flame sometimes counted as ranged in situations involving Large or larger creatures or the Weapon Infusion kineticist feat.
- Spells (Blade Barrier): Fixed that the resulting line was 5 feet too long.
- Spells (Haste): Fixed that you couldn't use a thrown Strike with your Haste quickened action.
- Spells (Telekinetic Bombardment): Fixed that the resulting line was 5 feet too long, and that the creature in the first affected square wasn't dealt damage.
- Spells (Wall of Fire): Fixed that the resulting line was 5 feet too long.
Balancing:
- Encounters (S8E4): Fixed that in some rare cases, you could steal the scroll of time stop from the Inevitable Death and keep it. (After another bugfix this patch, it would become quite easy to steal the Time Stop scroll, and that's a scroll that would give you too much treasure value if sold for where we are in the level system.)
- Tactics: Fixed that enemies sometimes used their weaker melee weapons for attacks of opportunity instead of their best weapon when you had the option "Ask for specific weapon for reactive attacks" enabled.
Bugfixes:
- Classes (Monk): Fixed that Whirling Throw could result in two creatures sharing a square, which Dawnsbury Days engine doesn't support well.
- Crash: Fixed a crash when you attempted to create a new character in the character library while in the campaign party building screen.
- Free encounter mode: Fixed that characters could show equipment selection at the technical level 888 ("downtime preparations") when exported from the Four-Leaf Clover or with some mods.
- Monsters (Dark Poet): Now has swimming.
- Rules (forced movement): Fixed that if a creature died during forced movement, its corpse would continue to slide afterwards and create a phantom space on the target square which would become permanently inaccessible.
- Rules: Fixed that you could attempt to wake up enemy creatures.
- Story mode: Fixed a corruption of some save files that could have happened where Tok'dar and Scarlet have switched names, portraits, and alignments if you were using the experimental branch of Dawnsbury Days at around the end of August.
Modding:
- Conditions: The Awaken action now has ActionId.Awaken. Also, you may add a QEffect with QEffectId.CannotBeWokenUpManually to prevent a creature from being shaken awake by an adjacent ally.
- Modding: Added QEffect.ReducesPersistentDamageRecoveryCheckDcBy for effects such as the Quenching rune.
- Modding: Added QEffect.ModifyTripFallingDamage.
Character content (beyond the level cap):
- New items: spellbreaking (evocation, enchantment) runestone, antimagic runestone
Four-Leaf Clover:
- Added final romance scene: L5 Sourcebook. (Content warning for implied nudity.)
- Added new side-expedition: DM3 Fallen from the Void. (This is a cross-collaboration with Starfinder: Afterlight.)
- Crash: Fixed that Dawnsbury Days sometimes crashed when you completed a sidequest.
- Encounters (S12E4): Fixed that the acid draugrn exploded twice.
- Encounters (S13E2a, S14E4): Fixed that if a nalfeshnee stole your weapon, you wouldn't get it back when the nalfeshnee died.
- Story mode: Fixed that mid-encounter saves didn't work with Choose Your Path segments.
