Dev Update | Upcoming Season & Seasonal Weapons

Greetings, Pilots!

With the September 29 update live, Season 5's final patch is officially done. Remember to log in and complete the battle missions to claim the Seasonal Weapon Crate. Past-season weapons are also included in the crate. The missions don't expire until the October 13 update, so you've got plenty of time.

On October 13, Mecha BREAK Season 6 kicks off, and we want to give you a heads-up on what's coming.

First off, just like Season 5, Season 6 will roll out in two main phases—launch and mid-season—with a regular maintenance update every two weeks. We're sticking with this rhythm to keep quality consistent and make sure Pilots always have something new to dive into.

New Mod Striker

The October 13 update will first introduce HEL · Kaleidoscope.

The current HEL performs exceptionally well in positional warfare. Its trap-based setups can create significant firing windows for well-prepared teammates. However, we've also noticed that its effectiveness heavily relies on teammates' performance, while it lacks stable offensive firepower and firing windows of its own, leaving it with limited options when operating solo.

Based on the above, we aim to make this a distinguishing feature for this Mod Striker. We will adjust its main weapon's close-range mode and Aux 1, the Reflector Drones, to strengthen its close-to-mid-range melee capability, allowing it to create opportunities and pull off impressive maneuvers on its own even without teammate coordination.

HEL · Kaleidoscope will be acquired in the same way as FALCON · Cloudpiercer: unlock it by collecting all 6 components. More detailed changes will be revealed in subsequent announcements.

Additionally, after the update, the weekly free Targeted Supply Key will no longer be tied to a specific Striker. Pilots can claim the weekly free key on the key purchase page; it works the same as keys obtained through purchases or missions, has no expiration date, and can be used to obtain current and future mod Strikers.

New Seasonal Weapons

Seasonal Weapons will also return this season. Considering our current production capacity, we plan to release 3 Seasonal Weapons per season to ensure the stability of updates.

On the theme front, we did think about making brand-new ones for seasonal weapons. But since Season 2, we've noticed that Strikers with two seasonal weapons already tend to look pretty mismatched. For example, HURRICANE's Season 1 sidearm shield and Season 2 main weapon make for a very challenging striker design to pull off.

Therefore, starting this season, we plan to continue the themes of the past five seasons—Scorching Fire, Pulse Light, Void, Radiance, and Rhythm—and add weapons of the same theme to Strikers that already have seasonal weapons. For instance, ALYSNES already has the Battle Halberd · Scorching Fire, and this season will add another Scorching Fire-themed weapon, allowing Pilots to create a more cohesive look.

The three Aux for this season are—

ALYSNES Aux 2: Gauss Cannon · Scorching Fire

LUMINAE Aux 1: Haze Diffuser · Scorching Fire

PANTHER Aux 3: Reinforced Complex Shield · Scorching Fire

Seasonal Weapon Acquisition & BP

Seasonal Weapon acquisition will also be adjusted this season.

Seasonal Weapons in previous seasons were primarily obtained through Mission Token exchanges and opening Seasonal Crates. Although these methods have undergone numerous optimizations and adjustments, issues remain, such as uneven efficiency across different modes and the excessive difficulty of obtaining weapons from Seasonal Crates.

Therefore, we have decided to make a more thorough adjustment this season.

First, we will officially add Seasonal Weapons to the Matrix Contract progression, with one as a free-tier reward and the other two as contract-tier rewards, making the overall progress clearer.

Next, Seasonal Crates will conclude their original purpose. Starting from Season 6, they will serve only as a general supply crate and will no longer be tied to core seasonal items.

Throughout Season 6, we will continue to adjust and iterate on gameplay and pacing across various modes. Due to space constraints, these adjustments will not be detailed here; please refer to future announcements and other related communications for specifics.

See you on the battlefield!
