Now is the time to set forth and explore the three new major additions that enrich the dynamic fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2:

The Forsaken Dominion

Discover the Forsaken Dominion of Norgan, a new story and region in the snowy north that adds a thrilling new loot-based relic expedition gameplay cycle, Adventure through this once prosperous land, now fallen to ruin and encounter fearsome new monsters and powerful foes to overcome! And remember, exploration has its rewards too! Who knows what boons and loot can be found within this icy realm for those with the fortitude to seek it out?

For those Arisen who desire both fashion and function, you will also be pleased to hear that within Norgan, a side-quest chain awaits that upon completion, will unlock a feature that allows you to change the appearance of weapons and armor obtained in Norgan to that of other gear while retaining its original stats and performance. As we mentioned at the start of this post though, this is your unwritten epic, so we will leave the rest for you to curate!

The Lost Rites

Alongside the addition of Norgan,12 new dungeon challenges known as the Lost Rites are also added in the expansion, which appear on the base game map throughout Vermund and Battahl. These unique dungeons offer rare equipment and legendary treasures to be claimed that were previously wielded by Arisen of days past, assuming you can overcome the trials set before you by the Pathfinder.

Hard Mode, New Customization, Quality of Life & More!

Alongside the main content additions released today in the expansion, we’ve also added a selection of new Hairstyles and Tattoos in the Character Creator, which you can use from right now to give your Arisen and Main Pawn a fresh new look!

Also out today is Title Update 4.0 for the base Dragon’s Dogma 2 game, which includes a bevy of features and improvements to the game, such as the addition of Hard Mode (which can be applied to an existing or new save), an option to restart the game at any time using the same save data and support for FSR 3 Frame Generation and DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. All in all, this update offers both new and seasoned players challenging adventures worthy of their mettle and a more immersive experience with smoother gameplay and performance.

We’ve been adding new features and improvements steadily in the last few months leading up to the release of Dark Arisen too: including increasing the number of equippable weapon skills from four to six, adding an Eternal Ferrystone for (optional!) easier fast travel, improvements to game optimization / stability and much more. If you’re returning to the game for the first time in a while, be sure to check out our previous patch notes to catch up on what’s new!

Plus if you’re not familiar with Dragon’s Dogma as a whole, we have a special movie narrated by none other than Ron Perlman which will get you up to speed:
