September Update 0.3.47

Hi everyone! The monthly update is here, and this is a big one. Like I said last month, I am focusing on combat and other features that I haven't had time for rather than adding more story content.

New Content:

  • Party switching system that can be used in your apartment when summoning the party (just use the door when your party is summoned).
  • Three new party members that you can add to your party once you’ve talked to or recruited them: VARA, VARAM and Dollface.
  • Dollface comes with a new class, the magic-using Shapers.
  • VARA and VARAM are hybrid-class, starting as Tactician and Armiger respectively. Later in development they will be able to unlock the Over-Threshold class which is available for heavily augmented/android characters.
  • I’ve added several new contract battle maps that are much more detailed. Map design is one of my weakest skills, and it takes a long time for me to make a map from scratch :(.
  • Loads of new cosmetic options, including new skins and lots of new hairstyles, 20 for male players and 33(!) for female players. You can change these in-game by using the mirror in the player apartment. Cosmetic options ended up being very difficult to add because of the number of adjustments that different models and animations needed.

Bug fixes:

  • Adjustments to the combat scripting to mitigate and hopefully remove the bug where enemies spawn in objects.
  • Ritual bugs should be fixed. This was one of those really interesting bugs that only fired in the shipped build and not in the editor.
  • Ha-Yora's breasts were clipping through her clothes. Hah, typical H-game problems amirite? This should be fixed.

I’ll be making another post soon. The past few months have been a whirlwind of hyper-busy activity for me, and now that things have calmed down a bit I have something of a general progress report. As well as maybe some mildly organized thoughts about the project, what's coming up next, life and the world in general.

I'm really tired but it's a good tired, that comes from doing work I care a lot about.

As always, let me know if you spot any bugs. This update touched a lot of things mechanically so I wouldn't be surprised at all.
