Welcome back, Chefs! 👨🍳
When you're working together in a diner, there isn't always time to stop what you're doing and type something in chat. Sometimes you just want to get your friend's attention, react to something that happened or celebrate that you somehow made it through the shift.
That's why we wanted your character to have a little more personality while you're playing. Emotes let you communicate without having to stop what you're doing. Your character actually performs the animation, so whether you're playing alone or with friends, you can react to what's happening around you and have a bit of fun between orders.

We also wanted them to become something you can collect along the way. Some emotes are available from the beginning, while others can be unlocked as you progress through the game.
It’s also very important to us that they form part of your character’s personality. As you keep playing, you'll be able to unlock more ways to express yourself, with different animations for different situations. Whether you want to celebrate something, react to what just happened or simply mess around for a moment, there's always another way to show how your character feels.
After all, not every interaction at the Diner has to be about getting the next order out. Sometimes you just need to high-five your co-worker and get back to work. 🍔👋
