Hi citizens of Nivalis Nights,
We're starting the week with a juicy new update! In this patch, we've again focused on adjustments to improve performance and fix the bugs you reported last week, and we've started to bring in some of your suggestions.
We keep monitoring your feedback and reports closely, and some of your suggestions have given us real food for thought. Keep sending them our way!
Here are the patch notes:
Performance
- Improved the performance of the crowd simulation and animation
- Fixed performance issues in The Stacks scene, caused by light probes from unloaded scenes being kept in memory
- Optimised footprints camera rendering (no longer rendering when it's not snowing, and rendering at lower frequency when it's snowing)
Important bug fixes
- Fixed vending machine and composter item duplication glitch
- Fixed various issues with customers not leaving when you are taking their orders yourself and don't have the required processors to make the meals
- Fixed cleaning up rotten food from venue storage when larger amounts existed in both normal and refrigerated storage
- Fixed character behaviour for Sal Magundi
- Fixed a conflict between 2 treasure fishing spots that prevented one of their related quests from progressing
- Coffee Run, Protection Racket, The Network: added conditioning and branching to account for certain individuals no longer being "available"
- Removed characters blocking the way to Deeala in Mountain Town
- Fixed venue levelling for Sunset Hour at Mountain Town
- Fixed the "End of Day" panel to properly display larger review numbers
- Fixed lighting issues introduced with the Lighting Details settings
- Minor composter and vending machine optimisations
Managers and staff
- Further improvements to managers restocking ingredients. The restock amount is now in sync with the automated Restock Ingredients quest objective (red), which appears when an ingredient's stock falls below 10. It now also accounts for any queued delivery tasks managers still have for those ingredients
- Some NPC-run venues have been struggling in the late game because of several factors. Calypso Island was missing trash bins for rotten food, and we also improved the scheduling for ingredient deliveries and allowed all roles to perform this task
- Hired managers now gain skill experience for trying to resolve customer complaints (with an extra bonus for a positive outcome), making ingredient orders and delivering ordered items to venue storage
- The time between making an order and the delivery being available now depends on the manager's level, ranging from 10 seconds down to 4 seconds at max level
- The venue storage restock notification now appears after delivery, not when the order is made
- Updated staff spots in all venues that players can own
Visuals, audio and quality of life
- Improved lighting and fixed buggy characters in certain transition scenes
- Visual fixes to the greenhouses at the Docks
- Edited snow in Eastern Residential. It no longer clips through the ground floor at Fusion Point
- Fixed player footprints in the snow. They now alternate correctly between left and right foot
- Improved visibility of the pause menu on very bright backgrounds (like snow)
- Updated the placement sound to reduce the high-pitched elements that some people found distracting
- Fixed the pan interaction animation for staff characters
- Added Aseptic poster interaction animation
World and content
- 3 new greenhouses have been set up in the Industrial District
- Decorated your neighbour's apartment in Lowtown. Somebody lives there now. Maybe.
- Zaffer's neon sign is now a decorative object you can place in your venue or apartment
- Rebalanced the achievement point unlock levels for all districts, as they were a tad too easy. Check your achievements window in game to find out what you can do to earn more points
- Removed unreachable hidden Fusebox scannable components from the underground section at Metro Hub
A note about Banor
Before this patch Banor was configured to also eat, which could overlap with his working schedule. In your current saves, this could still be the case, so expect him to arrive at work a little later. After that he should always be on time.
