Patch notes 2026-10-06 & Community Recognition Award

Hi, everyone!

The recent tweaks have made it to the water main branch. Big thanks to everyone who shared their experimental feedback. You're the best!

Patch notes follow below, but first, speaking of the best, we’re happy to say we're gearing up for this year’s Timberborn Awards - with a twist.

Community Recognition Award

After gathering feedback from last year’s edition, we’ve decided to add a new category: the Community Recognition Award. And who's better to nominate for an award like this than YOU, the community?

So today, we ask you to help us recognize an outstanding Timberborn community member who is

👉 Helpful,

👉 Creative,

👉 Kind,

👉 Super-skilled in the game,

👉 Extra-on-point with their GIFs and gags,

and/or

👉 Is simply THE BEST for any other reason!

The nominated person should be an active member of the community who frequently interacts with other players. There will also be separate award categories for content creators, as well as map and mod makers.

If there's someone you can think of, please take a minute to...

>>NOMINATE THEM HERE<<

And now, the patch notes.

Patch notes 2026-10-06

The following tweaks are now live on the main branch.

Map Editor

  • Replaced the "Random maturity" checkbox in the Map Editor with a "Gatherable" slider, which controls how many plants placed by the brush are fully grown and ready for gathering. This is related to one of the fixes listed below.

Bug fixes

  • Added a main menu warning for Intel 13th/14th Gen CPUs affected by known stability issues. You may close it, but it will still sit at the bottom of the Settings screen - we’ve just put it there as an extra measure since the BIOS issues on 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs are currently one of the main crash causes. If you're affected, we recommend updating the BIOS.
  • Inventories of the District Center and the Builders’ Hub no longer count toward the capacity displayed on the top-bar counters and checked by the Resource Counter.
  • Remember when we changed Succulents to store 2 units of water instead of 1? We have just hacked updated all custom maps to reflect this change, too.
  • Water and Badwater Sources with high strength will now scale it properly before the upcoming drought.
  • In the map editor, plant growth and yield are now properly preserved when a dead plant is restored.
  • Alt-tabbing on macOS no longer makes the game unresponsive.
  • Updated the Unity Engine version to 6000.5.11f1.
  • The mod manager displayed when launching the game should now render non-Latin fonts properly. (The in-game manager had already been fine).
  • The game should now render non-built-in fonts properly.
  • Fixed a few text strings in the Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Thai localizations (that had already been fixed, and apparently un-fixed at some point).
