About this game
The developer's description, from the game's Steam store page.

- Four factions at war - pick a flag for life and fight for an empty throne.
- Six classes, level 100 - talents, specializations and a climb that takes months, not a weekend.
- 16 ships, 8 systems, 10 rarities - every tier drops in play.
- Nearly 300 quests - a main story told from four sides, and four years of planned expansions.
- World bosses, battlegrounds and arenas - and a Hardcore galaxy where death is permanent.
- Squads, Houses and a faction Auction House - plus a Black Market for smugglers.
The Crown Doesn't Fall To The Worthy. It Falls To The One Still Standing.
Eight days ago Grand Admiral Korrath Vael, the most powerful man in the Subspace Guild, was murdered aboard his own flagship. Four powers are already circling the empty chair, and his last message says this: the knife came from inside the house. Find someone with no house.
That is you. New enough to owe nobody - which is exactly why you are dangerous.
Subspace: Redux is a Sci-Fi MMORPG built on the fast multiplayer dogfighting of the classic Subspace/Continuum, rebuilt as a persistent 3D galaxy with a story to fly through. One purchase. No subscription required.
Inspired By The Classics
- Subspace / Continuum - fast, skill-first multiplayer dogfighting, rebuilt in 3D.
- World of Warcraft - factions, classes, talents, quests and a world worth belonging to.
- Ultima Online - a dangerous, player-driven galaxy where what you carry is at risk.
- Dota 2 - class abilities with real counterplay, and team fights won on timing.

Four powers hold this galaxy, and the one you choose is for the life of that pilot:
- The Vanguard Concordat - the line holds so others may live.
- The Void Ascendancy - take what you can hold.
- The Balanced Path - broker it, record it, own the record.
- The Shroud Collective - move unseen.
Concordat against Void on the war axis, Path against Shroud in the shadows. Your own flag can never be your enemy - and never your excuse. Each faction has its own chat, its own Auction House and its own side of the story.

Eight hulls come with the game: Warbird, Hornet, Lancaster, Javelin, Leviathan, Shark, Spider, Terrier. Each is a sidegrade, not a rung on a ladder.
Eight more are premium, and each is a twin of a free hull: same mass, thrust, afterburner, top speed, turn rate and energy. A Banshee against a Warbird is decided by the two pilots and nothing else.
Six pilot classes sit on top: Vanguard, Interceptor, Warden, Tactician, Phantom and Engineer, each with its own field, talents and a specialization at level 30.

Around 390 sectors of contested space on dedicated servers - about three hours corner to corner in the fastest hull. Jump gates link the map, pirates with names run the lanes, faction patrols try to take them back, and eight tiers of world boss arrive on their own schedule, ready or not.
Play Normal, or play Hardcore, where a pilot who dies is dead. No rez, no insurance, no second pass. The Hardcore galaxy is separate, and everyone in it knows what they are risking.

Vael broke his last testament into six encrypted fragments and hid them with the six people he trusted: an archivist who refuses you twice, a quartermaster who has kept a tally of every favour for twenty years, a diplomat hiding inside enemy territory, an information dealer who will name a price you will not enjoy paying.
Four claims stand for the succession. One of them belongs to a man who has been dead for twenty years. Each faction lives the same story from its own side, and no single flag ever sees all of it.
The Story Keeps Coming
Expansions are planned for four years: a new one every six months. Each expansion starts a new Season and adds three more chapters to the galactic drama - for the main arc and all four factions alike - with new quests, new NPCs and new places to fight over. Every expansion is free for Supporters.
Fair, Not Free-To-Win
Eight ship systems - guns, bombs, mines, engines, thrusters, armour, shields and reactor - each improve through ten rarity tiers, from Common to Singularity, and every tier drops in the game. You can buy a tier or a premium hull to skip the hunt, but nothing money buys goes higher than what flying earns. Money buys a head start, never a ship you cannot beat.

The game you buy is the whole current game: every sector, every system, the full story so far. Supporter is an optional in-game pass, and this is the complete list:
- Four pilots instead of one, and eight hangar bays instead of one
- +10% XP and +10% credits on what you earn
- Hull insurance - keep a quarter of your bounty when destroyed, and skip the equipment loss roll
- Auction House: half the house cut, 150 listings instead of 50, no listing deposit
- A 30-minute vendor buyback window instead of five, and Trade Depot access from anywhere
- A daily bonus track, a monthly cosmetic, Supporter titles, name colour, paint and engine trails
- Every expansion, free
No damage, no armour, no speed, no range. It buys room, time and colour - never the fight.
Buy It Once. Fly It Forever.
No subscription required. No energy timers. No daily login tax. Just a galaxy with a dead Admiral, four powers who each think the chair is theirs, and one pilot with no house and nothing to lose.
