General Mature ContentSteam's content descriptors, as the developer answered them
This game is set in Ancient Rome and follows the lives of gladiators. Battles use side-view, turn-based RPG combat. Combat includes mild blood effects, including blood detailing on the main arena's battle backdrop where most fights take place, as well as minor blood tile decals in a couple of other locations blood is stylized and not graphic. Character death occurs only in the standard RPG sense (in battle), including an optional permadeath mode; there are also a couple of non-battle character deaths handled in typical RPG Maker style, nothing graphic. Characters consume period-accurate beverages (lora and cyser, both historical Roman drinks) in tavern scenes. An optional, easy to miss side activity lets players wager in-game currency on themselves winning their own upcoming arena battle. The story explores mature historical themes, including the Roman institution of slavery as it existed within the world of gladiatorial combat, as well as themes of mortality and the fragility of life. The developer's note on the content, from Steam
