AI Generated Content Disclosure

Declared by the publisher

Generative AI tools (OpenAI ChatGPT and Anthropic Claude) were used during development to help create or transform some visual assets and to assist in designing the procedural audio recipes used for the game’s background music and most sound effects. All AI-assisted materials were reviewed, selected, edited, and integrated by the developer, who made all final creative decisions. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay, and no player input or data is sent to AI services.

About this game

The developer's description, from the game's Steam store page.

PLAY WITH WORDS. BUILD WITH RULES.

Play the Wor!d is a deckbuilding roguelite where every run starts with a handful of letters. Combine randomly drawn letter tiles into words, then connect those words according to their parts of speech to complete sentences.

But a sentence is more than just a sentence — it's your scoring engine. Choose your words carefully, take advantage of word and sentence patterns, and build combinations that turn a simple sentence into a massive score.

BUILD WORDS FROM LETTERS

Draw letter tiles and combine them into words. Your available letters change as you play, so make the most of what you have and find the right word for the situation.

TURN WORDS INTO SENTENCES

Every word has a grammatical role. Connect your words through their parts of speech and complete different sentence structures to push your score even higher.

FIND THE RIGHT PATTERN

The words you choose matter. Sentence structures, word patterns, and the characteristics of your vocabulary can trigger additional scoring opportunities. Discover combinations that work together and build your strategy around them.

BEND THE RULES WITH EMOJI TILES

Emoji tiles bring their own special rules into the game. Use their unique effects to change the way you play, create unexpected combinations, and squeeze even more points out of every sentence.

CLEAR THE TARGET. BUILD YOUR STRATEGY.

Each round challenges you to reach a target score. Adapt to the tiles you're dealt, discover new elements, refine your combinations, and see how far your words can take you.
